I am old enough to remember the favoured "sweeper system" at many top clubs and i wonder if that would be a way to come to terms with the way Liverpool build their goals momentum.....from what I remember the sweeper acted as essentially a last line of defence behind a back three or four and in front of the goalkeeper but also was able to push forward into an offensive midfield position when the situation demanded....to my mind Holgate could excell in that position but would we then have to go with a defensive line in front of him that included Keane thus sacrificing the two up front situation we employ at the moment as Richardsson would have to operate more in a wide midfeield role....my suggested line up with a sweeper....Pickford, Holgate, Coleman, Keane/Sidibe, Mina, Digne, Richardsson, Davies, Schnderlin, Walcott, DCL...only a thought!!!
