Nothing against the fella. Everton freely offered him a generous multi-year contract which multiplied his weekly salary about threefold. It hasn't worked for him at the club but he knows he won't get anywhere near that salary elsewhere. He has a great life, young family, flash cars, massive house, financially secure for future generations of his family, etc. He is well within his rights to stay until the end of his contract. Maybe he just values his luxury lifestyle over playing football every week. Wouldn't we all take 60k a week for just training 2 hours a day? I'd be delighted if he moved on, but don't hold it against him if he decides he wants to stay.
