....from all I hear, he’s not the best professional and he’s a poor trainer. Apparently over his ideal playing weight all season. He has to want to improve and I’m not certain the game matters to him.
I think over the last few years there has been a fitness problem. From what I have read about Ancellotti he employs 2 fitness coaches and wants his team to be able peak fitness. No surprise that klopp did this when he started and anyone who didn't buy into it he got rid of. Hopefully this will happen with us. Also like to see better pre season periods playing better teams

When he is confident, he is decent. However, it doesn't take much to knock it. Hopefully Carlo will work some magic with him.

it's mistakes that causes Keane problems, not his skill level.

He has the attributes to be a good cb, but either his brain has died or Silva has wrecked his confidence with his zonal marking. Carlo will sort him, confidence can do wonders, look at DCL and Holgate now compared to when Silva was here.....if you can’t learn from one of the worlds greatest managers then it’s time for a different occupation......

....not sure he has ‘the attributes to be a good CB’. He has the attributes that make him a CB forwards like playing against; slow, immobile, flat footed, easy to run at, lack of desire, no fight.

I suppose he’s ok in the air but I have always wondered why Walsh bought him.

Really surprised me what you’ve said @Eggs. I think the lad has limitations to be a decent centre half, but he’s not helping himself if what you said is true. Really can’t see him being here next season under Ancelotti anyway.

Carlo will sell him.
You're not winning anything or getting champions league with Michael Keane in your squad

He’s ok at getting to the ball in the air, where the ball goes after that is anyone’s guess however!

He may surprise people today with AncelottI’s set up/approach. I do think he will play today and Mina will be rested with his previous injury issues. It’s important we get behind every player irrespective of form. In particular keane who has struggled massively against Leicester and Chelsea who we both got results against.

Reading all these posts, I'm really surprised we actually bought him. You would think the coaching/scouting team would have done their due dilligence on a player they were going to spend so much money on. Especially when we had a "specialist" like Walsh in place.

I hope so mate, but he will have to have many "surprise" performances if he wants to restore the supporters' faith in him.

I totally degree there’s been more than a couple of times recently were he has been hustled off the ball or he’s made a mistake which he has got away with and it looks like he want the ground to swallow him up. I’ve always said he’s mentally weak but he needs our support at the moment. The last thing he needs is slagging off. Hope he scores today and has a solid game just to take a bit of heat off him.
