No its not. Where does the name - for this very forum come from?
Its a grand old team...
A song by Evertonians singing about their history.
You have nowhere to go on this. We love our history.
And there's enough of it - to always learn more. ESPECIALLY for all the newbies and those who've recently joined us.
Yeah but we don't go on about it en masse 24 hours a day, that's all I'm saying. There's a certain mindset at Everton - you're right, we're a club steeped in history. But it's more of a... I dunno, a certain "we know something that you don't" attitude Evertonians have, and we're proud amongst our selves.
The phrase "If you know your history" pretty much means "if you don't know how big we are, then you don't know anything about us. Sod off"

In comparison, Liverpool feel the need to shout out to the entire world what they've done at every opportunity. Their history is just something to gloat about. Ours is a personal pride. It's hard to explain, but all I know is that when I'm at the game if I ever saw thousands of Evertonians waving flags and banners saying "Kendall is as cool as The Fonz" then that would be the day football died for me.
Your point about newcomers to the world of Everton is correct though. A little knowledge always helps.
