I'm sick of hearing about this greedy b'stard , I don't know why we are wasting our time talking about this overated player..

What's he ever done for us?...He's a hard worker..Well If I was on his wages I'd be embarassed not to put a graft in..

He will get a wake up call at Chelsea...

No, but if he did play, I'd be fairly happy as he'd be keeping Malouda out of the side.
I think Piennar knows that he will only be able to play second fiddle to Malouda.

I really hope that he will realise that Chelsea is his only option and go there. He will fit right in with Cashly, Terry and Drogba. Maybe he is beginning to realise that there is no other option as the other clubs have started to see that he is a gold-digger, otherwise he will have to go back to us, Moyes will easily take him back, but will the fans?

If he penned a new contract, yes. The guy has worked hard throughout his time at Everton. If not, and he just runs down his contract, then no. He'd be booed constantly for missing out on the derby and justifiably so.

Which is strange Moyes mentioned on the radio that his career here not ecessarily over- how do you come back from that without a contract signing and official apology/ setting the record straight????

He can't. Sure, the kids and women will back anyone wearing the blue shirts, but he'd be given the finger by your standard Everton fan.

I for one simply don't want to see him playing again - I'd be gutted if he signed a new contract now. There's more to Everton than keeping hold of mercenaries no matter how good they are on the pitch.

And that's what he is - a mercenary. I had no problem with him until yesterday when he screwed us over big time. I could handle him leaving, in truth I could even have handled him moving to Liverpool if it meant a fee for us - but I can't stomach the s***house decision to bottle out of a derby for the club who rescued him from German obscurity for his own selfish reasons.

Devout Christian my arse. He wouldn't know what decency was if it was stamped on his forehead. He forgets too easily that the near 40'000 fans attending Everton every week pay his wages.

It's not that different from the Rooney situation. He is one of our biggest assets. If there's a chance that, having seen what's on the table elsewhere, he decides to sign a new contract with us, then Moyes has to leave the door open. If a deal can't be agreed this window then, if we ostracise him, he'll be sitting on the sidelines until June picking up his wages. We can ill afford that. While he's still with us, we have to keep him onside. I wouldn't have wanted him being anonymous yesterday anyway. We already have Ossie for that! lol

Careful lads.

I don't recall ANYWHERE the Bible says that you aren't allowed to try an earn the best possible wage for yourself. Unless you learned folks can show it to me, I'd refrain from Christian references. Seriously.

I'm laughing at people on here who are having a go at him for trying to get the best wage possible because SURELY they wouldn't do that for themselves right?

Oh, but TX Bill, he's a footballer and they earn enough already. Don't make me laugh. Next time you go ask for a raise or try to get a better paying job, I'll tell YOU that you earn enough already and that you're being a "greedy [Poor language removed]".

IIt's threads like these that frankly, embarrass me as an Everton supporter. And some of us call kopites "deluded." If you have a real problem with footballers trying to earn the most that they can earn, then you might want to find another hobby because this won't be the last time you see this happen in football.

You don't like that he's leaving us. No problem. Don't like that he didn't play today. No sweat. Don't like that we don't have any money to spend on a replacement. Fair enough. But here's one undeniable fact. Steven Pienaar didn't drop us in the grease like Lescott did and has played every match for us with 100% effort.

What more do you want?
dont have a problem with any of the above mate, the only problem i have is he turned his back on the fans yesterday by not playing in the derby, he could have given us one more shift and went like a hero iin the game that means the most to us, instead he took care of his own intrests and didnt give a stuff about the fans or the club who ar epaying his wages, im sorry i dont want players at the club wih that type of attitude.

I think Mr Charlie of Adam said it best today when he said:

"I am not here to speak about speculation," said Adam. "There is nothing I can say on it.

"Is it hard to concentrate on my game when clubs are putting bids in? No, it is easy.

"At the end of the day I am a footballer and I want to keep playing.

"If anyone has seen the performances I have had over the last month or so, then they will know the sp
eculation has not derailed me."

It would be like taking your missus back after she had been shagging some arld fella down the road. Some would just because they dont like change or unfamiliarity, some wouldnt want her but wouldnt want anyone else to have her, I sit in the latter camp.
