Haha....can I ask why you always seem to question other fans loyalty to this club?? You obviously have blue blood running through your veins where us mere mortals have not.

Oh zeke. Search my name in the Silva thread and you’ll find out what I really think.

Ok I’ll do that Death...just angry at the moment with this club and might have misunderstood your comment.

Ye I getcha. Sarcasm is a bit in bad taste and incomprehensible when feelings are running high.

I agree.

But if you wanted the board to back him, like matty and I, it makes no sense to slate them for doing what you wanted.
So are you saying that you would back the manager for ever? If not, you would need a plan in place so that you are prepared when you stop backing him. Also, availability of a replacement might well influence the timing of when you decide to stop backing the current manager.
Planning is something we are just not good at.

Theres no doubt he has made some bizarre decisions...playing Sigurdsson Schneiderlin and Tosun in any game is asking for trouble.

Also about mobility his comment was madness...and giving Sigurdsson the armband was head scratching...his subs also...weird.

However, if you look at the players I would keep (and i posted this in another thread in reply to @CahillsCornerFlag )

GK: Pickford

DF: Kenny, Holgate, Mina, Digne

MF: Gomes, Gbamin, Davies

FW: Bernard, Richarlison, Iwobi, Gordon, DCL, Kean

8 Players signed by Silva/Brands
5 Players from academy or signed as prospects
1 Player from the previous managements squad

That shows the massive turnaround. 14 players out of a 25 man squad who are any good.

Of those 14 players only Richarlison has shown he is a consistent goalscorer in the league.

Also from the 14,
3 players are injured
1 is overseas on loan
1 hasnt made his debut
1 is adapting

So that narrows it down to 8 players in the entire squad who are serviceable.

As i keep asking, what manager can come in and turn this team around looking at the above?

Its not an easy task.

There’s still enough quality in that side to be performing a lot better than we currently are. Even before injuries we were underperforming and there was still no excuses. There’s no excuses to be losing to the likes of Villa, Sheffield United & Norwich.

Wether or not another manager can come in and get the best out of what he will have here is questionable, however this current manager certainly cannot and has to go.

Haha...Normally I like a good bit of sarcasm...I can be a sarcastic git myself, but at the minute I’m raging at the current situation i find our club in...it’s painful :(

No, maybe I'm not being clear. Let me try again

1.Until yesterday, I wanted the board to be patient and give Silva time to turn it around.

2.Yesterday convinced me that hes not going to.

3.However, given that the board were pursuing the strategy I wanted them to, I'm not going to criticise them for not having a top notch replacement ready-to-go as that would be hypocritical.

Myself and Matty part ways at point 3. I want him replaced with a long term choice with a successful track record. I dont think it's fair to give the board pelters for doing what I wanted them to, even if I turned out to be wrong

Re-read my post.

I think that there is no chance Moshiri votes to keep Silva...

The ONLY reason he would is if he has spoken with him and Brands and realises they need a huge pot of money to turn things around on the pitch...

My view is either;

We keep Silva and he is given £100mil+ in Jan

We keep Silva until a top replacement agrees to come onboard

We fire Silva and have a top manager in place

I cannot see any other outcomes as the fans will turn on the board.

Christ. Fantasy land. A 100 mil in Jan? How would that square with FFP? And where would the money come from?

This is what I predict:

Humiliation at Anfield 5-0 and Moyes comes in on a 18 month contract after that.

There is no FFP...we arent in Europe and the 3 year cycle is over.
