If they can develop the technology to make offside calls instantaneous in the same way goal line decisions are, or somewhere close that would be a good addition. But by all account the frame speed of the current cameras is not good enough for the way they want to use it for offsides
The phases of play also dont help with the offside rule,I just find that VAR isnt really doing a decent job,its still down to individual interpritation on challenges, there is no consistancy in games

literally couldn't be any worse, I've turned down tickets this season apart from the league cup because I know there will be no VAR, won't be going to any matches to have the mickey taken out of me by officials

surely even the most harden fans of VAR are now changing there mind,i am no fan of it from the start, even if that pen we should have got would have gone for us,no idea how thats not give for us,only needed to catch it while he was up there

It's a good tool being used in the worst way possible. It's getting to the point were it's becoming a talking point in every single game played. We've had inconsistent calls when it was supposedly for the ''clear and obvious''. It's not about certain clubs benefitting, it's about the disgraceful way it's being implemented week in week out in our league.

We need new clear guidelines for it's use. We need refs to go and have a look at decisions on a pitch side monitor, we need offsides properly clarifying because drawing wonky lines on a screen in 2019 and saying offside is crazy. We need handball clarifying because surely if your hand are above your head it's not natural?

I know all of these rules have an official version to read on the FA website but it all needs simplifying so it's consistent week in week out.

It's not the tech at all. If the police have footage of someone clearly committing a crime on CCTV and they ignore it, you don't bin the CCTV. It did its job.

The problem is the refereeing team here in the Prem. I don't know if it's incompetence, some backhanded bribery, an intentional tanking of VAR or a combination of the lot, but it absolutely stinks.

Dermot Gallagher said Alli was a clear handball ,you know its bad when he actually goes against his own people, but also says the spurs one should have been

also
According to Dermot Gallagher, the referees are not using the pitch side VAR screens because they (referees) train together and work together so they trust each other

lol

The tech isn't good enough for the tasks they are setting it though. Although that could be argued that is down to poor human decision making also

I voted yes because there are times when club and national teams have suffered at the hands of poor or blindsided officiating. Take the Henry handball that robbed Ireland or Lampard's goal against Germany for instance. It should simply be a case of obvious mistakes overturned or, if it's touch and go, the referee's decision stands. What the hell is so difficult?

The blind leading the blind

The only tool that is effective is the goal line technology. But note, that is totally electronic without any human judgement.

VAR relies on subjective human choices, there will be mistakes, bias and inconsistency. It does not clear a cloudy situation, it just adds more problems than it solves.

It is being used the wrong way.
