Why Leicester and not Everton?

I always think with them that they're one injury (Vardy) away from struggling... But tbf to him his injury record is very good.
Be interesting to see what would happen if the Ar$e, Spuds or to a lesser extent due to his past Man Utd come knocking for Brenda.
Has to be said they recruit very well also.
I'm from Leicester so do see a fair bit of them, was quite pleased for them the first time round when they won the league but not particularly liking it this time round...
That being said I don't think they will finish anywhere near the top two. Genuine chance of top 4 though.

You can pick and choose an example to fit your argument but it only serves to validate how narrow it is.

Gylfi is irrelevant (and £45m); he wasn't acquired under Brands. The players he has gotten are from Arsenal, Barcelona, Juventus, Monaco, Mainz (ok they stink).

One sec did i miss the original point. Excuse that im at work and may have missed the original post about signings under brands. We have overpayed for the likes of bolasi schnederlin sigurdson iwobi etc. What is the complete opposite exactly.

Two decent proven premier league strikers.

Their pre season was also very low key which helped. No travelling just local away games against football league clubs.

One thing though they've played a lot of football against 10 men and have had a lot of fortune with VAR.

Is it luck when it's the right decision? The rules are the rules and we're all playing to the same system, whether we agree with it or not. We were also leading in both games before they got a man sent off.

What I would say is that we're actually no where near our best just yet. Other than Friday, we've not had any winger on form, Chilwell has been quite poor and Tielemans hadn't hit anywhere close to the form he did last season. We've also played quite defensively against quite a few teams, playing an extra DM and that has stunted our attacking performances.

I think there is still a lot more to come from the team at the moment.

On the flip side, as I said earlier a club of this size and you're only ever a bad decision in recruitment away from it all crumbling away quite quickly. The quicker we get the new training facilities up and running (the summer) and a ground expansion to 40,000 the better. Takes us up a bracket in terms of size, who we can attract, what we can offer etc.
 
All starts with a good manager. Get someone who knows what he’s doing, and the rest will follow, it’s really not that hard Everton just stop appointing numpties

Basically they're the anti Everton, they ask what would Everton do, then do the opposite.

There coaches must be very good too, If you think of the some of the so called ‘lesser’ players they have now, and also won the league with.
They have a clear understanding of the jobs they need to do, whereas we move players around non stop with no real system.

Mate, I'm not even annoyed as argument would indicate, just having a poke fun chat with you.

And no, I didn't explicitly state Brands, but since he's there now, and the comparison is against LC now, I believed that to be assumed already. IMHO all the poor signings were pre-Brands, though it has to be said the jury is out on pretty much all of Brands signings. They just look better.

The manager change has made a difference clearly, I don't think Puel was getting enough out of the players. But Rodgers has benefited massively from the plan put in place two summers ago. Most of us last season were saying that someone could benefit massively from the work Puel was doing, and so it seems to be the case.

There is no change Rodgers takes over a squad still relying on good (in a certain style of play), but limited and ageing players like Okazaki, Simpson, Fuchs, Morgan and implements what he's done now, as quickly as he has.

Not one to make assumptions as they're your club, but we've done the same journey the last 3 seasons after throwing £300million up the wall on past it players. This season alone, at least 15 first team players either sold or loaned out.

People will argue about the calibre of players we've bought in comparison to you, but there's no way what we have bought are lower calibre players based purely on where we got them from.

As for Puel...the nail in his coffin seemed to be sacrificing a 20 goal a season striker in Vardy. Rodgers has fixed that.

We're kinda in that predicament as he's got the tools but not using them. Should we be up in the top 4? Maybe not. But certainly not bottom 4. And most certainly able to mix it with teams from 3rd place to 8th.

Again, Leicester finished beneath us last season with the same squad and beneath us under Big Sam. The only difference? The manager.
