No one knows his job. No one knows what he does. There's no accountability.

Who knows if he can sack a manager? Moshiri could still be in charge. There are so many unknowns.

Clearly a few on here don't.

But he's Director of Football.

He was promoted to the board as such. Again;

“Since then, we have conducted a full review of this model, learning lessons from the last two seasons and identifying a structure that will ensure stability and success. Our approach now is to have a Director of Football with a broader remit, responsible for the whole footballing strategy at the Club, rather than just player recruitment.

yes, strategy

That implies ensuring that the youngsters have a clear plan through the to the first team if they’re good enough

he works with the manager to find players to suit his formation

he does not set the formation or pick the players every weekend

He picks the manager and dictates a style/philosophy and picks a manager to enforce/compliment that.

Really surprised how many don't seem to grasp his role - he's not just the guy who signs players.

Marcel Brands will determine when Silva's time is up, and who will replace him.

Sure, Moshiri can if he chooses, but he'd be completely undermining Brands.

The end is near now. Much like it was with Koeman and Martinez Goodison will turn on him and the club will sack him for the wrong reasons. Not because he deserves it (because he absolutely does!) but because they're idiots who wish to avoid Goodison going full on grim mode. No doubt they'll then appoint another inept clown to take his place and wonder why we keep being crap!

Well no, he'd have to consider it, but end of the day Mosh has final say as it's his money that does it.

Moshiri pays the Director of Football, and put him on the actual board to make those decisions.

Moshiri could also take the training sessions as well if he really wanted, but he pays coaches to do it.

One more thing to note today. The ridiculous zonal setup is exploited leading to Burnley goal. They studied us and saw our half baked zonal marking does not cover the far post.

the style would equal something like fast counter attacking football, not the actual formation and shoehorning that useless Icelandic tit into the team

anyway we all know Silva was not brands choice, so when he cans him we’ll see what he’s made of
