*CLEARS HIS THROAT*

Listen to Tubey:

I don't want to get in to one tonight, but just because Moyes got it right tonight, doesn't mean he did at any point in the last month prior to this.

A bit of humility works both ways lad.

Moyes got it right today, but as the table shows he's got it wrong even more times this season. He did us proud tonight -- they all did -- but there's 38 games in a season, and just like the city win, it can all count for nought if you go and toss points away to a crappy team the next week.

I think the common theme I'm seeing is "more space for our midfield to operate."

Versus them being on top of each other and easy for the opposition to close down.

THIS. the west ham game last week showed our crowded midfield up, this team tonight wouldve battered west ham about 18 - nil.

Plus the pace of Beckford, and generally having 2 proper front men, meant their defence was more prone to us on the counter and when they were in possession. With just one striker we seem to get everyone behind the ball, bar one, and then if we win it lump it up and hope they can hold it up. The problem is, their defenders can get back as quick as we can get men forward!

Today however, we utilised the 2 strikers well, and the pace of Coleman even better, as shown in the winning goal; Beckford holds it up, flicks it to Saha, Saha shoots and Coleman finishes. Beautiful.

Let's just hope Moyes had one after that result.

Bloody hell, only been back about half an hour. Traffic was murder, but im still buzzing! I was so impressed with how we played tonight, we were fluent and created some lovely chances. I was made up with coleman, the lad just keeps on running and running all day and he never gives up a lost cause. I was also very impressed with Fellaini, he looked so calm and cool on the ball and he won a hell of alot of 50-50 balls, he's starting to get back to the form of last season. For me as well, the right hand side as a whole, if the formation stays the same as it was today, it can only get better, Neville and Coleman played brilliant together today, and gareth bale was in Pip's back pocket all game. Saha looked like his old self, full of confidence and i'm so pleased he finally got a goal. More of the same please moyes and co! Really proud to be an Evertonian tonight!!

I must say that we got some of the old Arteta back today. Got better as the game wore on I thought.

orrr. 4-4-2

orrr. 4-4-2

Moyes did get it right tonight he must have been reading the forum to play 4-4-2.He has been poor this season but at least he did something to change the system, like we keep saying on here we have the players they just need managing properly and last night they were.

Agreed, last 20-30 minutes was getting back to the old arteta, hopefully this is the turning point.

Saha looked like he had the shackles taken off with Beckford as his runner.

Fellaini was awsome.

My only beef is Howards Kicking, he panics when the ball is passed back to him and never looks for the short pass.
Not once did we get posession from one of his punts last night, and it puts us under pressure. This needs addressing.

A blessing in disguise could be Cahill leaving for the asia cup as this wouldn't have been the team if he was available.

But well done to moyes for the positive formation.

But if it keeps up like this....I dont think we need loans.

I don't know if we can say this. We now have three players who are looking to get out: Pienaar, Heitinga and Yakubu. Plus, injuries and suspensions happen. And at some positions (right mid) we don't have depth. If Seamus goes down, we're hosed.

We seem to have center mids coming out of our ears, so we can ignore that.

And though Saha played much better today, I'd rather look at the striker loan market to see what we can find.

I hope Moyes is still scouring the market.
