And the score 3-1 tells its story

Not really it was a flattering scoreline their keeper made more saves than Pickford, the first goal should have been disallowed and the 2nd was a unlucky deflection.

We never seem to get the rub of the green when we play down there and you could argue we deserved nothing but it was never a 3-1 game.

No energy no desire doesn’t matter what you coach you will never compete in prem with an easy ozie attitude.
Put the footballs away and get some [Poor language removed] fire into them, we are light years away from shower across the park in terms of desire.
Get real, at the moment we are so far behind them in every possible measure that we seriously need to readjust our aims. Forget Liverpool and what they do, survival mode is required at the moment. Maybe this is bedwetting after 5 games but we're so far off the pace it's frightening. Wake up

So, so poor. It doesn't matter that Calvert-Lewin scored, he is just a really poor player. He is like Walcott, in that he has no footballing brain whatsoever. Only he has even less ability than Walcott.

Bournemouth are a poor team defensively and yet he doesn't play a striker who can counter them in Kean. Almost every run Kean made when he came was a positive one - once more Calvert-Lewin doesn't even have 2% of a striker's instinct for making runs. Kean's touch was sharp and generally tight, unlike Calvert-Lewin's shin bouncers. The thing that frustrates me the most about Calvert-Lewin is that he is useless at pinning a centre back. I used to play centre forward at Sunday league level, and it is one of the most basic things a striker can do. Pin the CB, spin to run in behind or get a shot off. This is unforgivable as DCL is a big lad and fast when he sprints - that side of things should therefore be really easy for him. Yet, as soon as Kean came on, he was doing that.

But as well as poor selection from the start, Silva needs to look at himself. He is Moyesesque in his resistance to making changes early. He also always has to make like for like substitutions, instead of shaking up the pattern of play. I know he is a deeply flawed player, but why wasn't Tom Davies brought on? He always gives energy and tempo, which was something we desperately needed there. Also, Coleman was woeful - he could have tried Sidibe, but he is too 'safe' for anything like that.

Questions need to be asked at this stage.
Agree with everything especially in bold above. Was one on one with the keeper in the first half and no thought of a chip or to try and go around the keeper, just smashes it straight at him and hopes the keeper will make a mistake. Same in the second half when he had a chance to go around the keeper from the poor back pass. I like DCL, thinks he works hard, good header of the ball but unfortunately he is just not to a standard that we require to challenge the Top 6.

4-2-3-1 does not work ESPECIALLY when we don’t have a player like gana and Gomes is out yet silva never changes it. Why does he keep persisting with a failing system. The only reason we play 4-2-3-1 is for Sigurdsson and he’s been a ghost for ages. I’d understand if he tried something else and it doesn’t work but he hasn’t even tried a different formation since Burnley away

Judging by many, if not the majority, of posts on here before kick off predicting a loss to us I thought that people would be a lot happier - having been proved right .

It's a mystery how, having dominated for a lot of the game, we managed to get so comprehensively beaten. I went with Digne for MoM because I thought he played well throughout. Anti-MoM was definitely Pickford who had a stinker. I don't think he made a save of note in the whole game, he flapped at the first goal, got nowhere near what should have been a routine stop for the second (a big shout out to Richarlison for giving away a needless free kick that that one was scored from BTW), and made absolutely no effort for the third one.

I note that DCL is getting a heap of blame despite scoring our only goal and nearly grabbing a second from nothing. Haters will hate.

I should imagine Marco must be scratching his head now, but something needs to be done about the end product which just isn't happening for us at the moment.

A word on Bournemouth. I note that they have perfected the art of winning free kicks by collapsing in a heap at the slightest touch. Richarlison could learn from them how to do it effectively.

We haven't progressed an inch since last august - we are a mid-table rabble at best.
We were blessed with a very favourable set of fixtures to open this campaign and we have well and truly spunked them up the proverbial wall.

We are very much in the 10-7th bracket. Nothing more, nothing less. Just as we´ve been in the last 15 years.

It’s just so predictable. At 1-1, we had a couple of dangerous breaks, central, and all we look to do is play it out wide, where the attack breaks down again. It’s the same every week. Hate to say it, but we don’t have anyone who will take a game by the scruff of the neck and make things happen. Just pass the buck to Digne and hope he produces from wide. It’s so, so boring.

Which I believe we won handily 5-1....

I had a look at the names in their line up, and other than Wilson, I honestly and arrogantly thought they were no match for us. Pretty much as I thought from the Villa game.
We are going backwards again. Certainly not showing progress if we can't even avoid defeat, never mind win at the two aforementioned clubs. Surely this isn't what we have to look forward to again is it?

Yes it was a flattering scoreline. Thought we could have lost 4 or 5 - 1
