I wasn’t anti-City, my first ever game was at Maine Road, used to go a lot with a lot of friends who were City fans. I’m massively against City’s owners and the grim hand in hand with a supposedly Labour Manchester City Council. City are the Tory club now.

And to keep on topic LOL at VAR being used against City and LOL at any bias not being towards City

You obviously have no idea of (or choose to ignore) the massive financial investment that has been pumped into east Manchester since the takeover by the owners? Virtually all of the badly needed low cost, social housing projects in that part of the city have been funded by them in conjunction with
the council. Trust me Manchester City council is pretty hard left wing to say the least. The regeneration of that part of town is nothing
short of a miracle. I know I was born and brought up there. Of course it is a business investment but one that both the council, the government
or anyone else for that matter was not prepared to do on their own. The owners of MCFC are the best thing to happen to the city of Manchester
since the IRA bombing in the 80's. Oh, and the football's not to shabby either ;-)

From whats been said, no it wouldn't have been a pen
Which raises the question why it’s deemed an infringement by the attacking team, but not the defensive. Surely it’s an offence for both?

That’s not specifically VAR related, yet it is another glaring inequality within the game, a bit like how Spurs didn’t concede a penalty in the 1st half. .

Which means now there is effectively two sets of different rules for handballs in the box.
One rule for attackers and the other for defenders. Madness!

Come on mate, you won the owner Lottery, got a new stadium, the brightest manager and all the best players, shiny trophies and NOW you’re falling out of love with the game??? You waited 50 years I’m sure you’ve been through enough as a City fan all throughout the bad times in my lifetime, and there were plenty of low moments and cockups of being run by a bungling TV salesman chairman!
I understand what you're saying mate and we did indeed win the lottery. Of course I want us to win trophies and play fantastic football. I've been walking in the debts and despairs of the Mariana trench watching Man City. All those years of next to nothing watching United Liverpool, even Everton win trophies in the mid 80s pal. We were like ragamuffins at some posh ball back then, much of it caused by the innate ineptitude and bungling interference of a former TV salesman as our chairman.

That's why I don't rub it in rivals fans faces of "we're considerably richer than yow"(Harry Enfield) nowadays. I try my best not to become expectant watching us, it's difficult, especially when our bar of football gets raised higher every season by our owners.

I want us to win the CL, who wouldn't? If and when we do I'll probably knock going to live games on the head.

All you old timers will know where I'm coming from. Part of me wishes we were an ordinary club back at Maine Road. Matchdays meant more to me back then, even though many times I feared we'd get turned over by some small club. It happened regularly and I cannot forget where were were.

If and when you move from Goodison Park, and if you rise to start winning the PL and other trophies, you'll realise what I'm saying and agree that less is most definitely more(in some instances)

You really do not need to tell me what is happening in Manchester. I am fully aware of it and actively involved in social programmes in the city. Manchester Life has been given free reign over Ancoats and Beswick and it’s an absolute travesty. Regeneration is not an instant boom and even if it was, the city afixing itself so closely to Mansour is disgraceful. L

Nice post.

I’ve known a few Man City fans say similar things, even go as far as saying their club died.

Of course we would have loved it to be us, few trophies and some great players, but at what cost? Sat on a train 10 years down the line with a load of idiots that support us because we’re winning, not Everton, that - nor is it ‘City’

And you know what nausates me, all the glory hunting know nowts who have latched onto us since we became fashionable to latch on to. Some of their comments on social media are embarrassing to us proper City fans who have been their done it and wore the t-shirt all through the rough times.

It’ll only get worse as well, but that’s the price of success. City have always had the same ‘filter’ that Everton have had, where the absolute nobheads would go and support United/Liverpool and the club was better off without them

At least you got to live through both periods though.

As long as VAR is consistent I’ve no problem with it.

I still feel sick for City. Absolutely gutting to lose a goal like that.

Still don't like it especially checking every goal for reasons to disallow it and pulling up marginal offside decisions. What happened to advantage to the attacker? Football is about goals not science or technology for me. It feels very anal and spoil sport to look for reasons to rule out goals on very marginal calls. The new handball rule is crap too as seen in the city game. Many of footballs rules are subjective. I hate how it tarnishes the goal scoring moment now and the jeering and spoil sport cheer of a Var ruling out a goal. It takes too long to pull it up too maybe they need to flash up var on the screen if there is doubt? Not leave it over two minutes then pull it back that ruins the moment. If we have to have it it should have been for clear and obvious errors only but It seems to be the refs are leaning on it heavily.

The hand ball rule is mental.

So, if an attacking player accidentally handles the ball and a goal results it is chalked off....but if, in the same incident, it hits the defender’s arm instead then there is no penalty.

Different laws for attackers and defenders is very much against what the game is all about IMO.
