Are we happy with Kranjcar replacing Steven?

A lot of reports seem to be hinting this is the way we are going to go. I really like Kranjcar and always thought if he had an extra couple of yards pace that he would be a really top top player. Very skilful, creative and technically proficient. However because of the lack of pace I would think he is far too similar to Mikel, whereas Steven brings a bit of speed and directness that neither of the other two probably have?

I'm not totally disheartened by the possibility just think we might slow down an already pretty pedestrian (paced) midfield...?

Its the pace issue . You're right , lad .

Otherwise , in terms of pure ability ; Him an' Peanut are 50/50 . Peanut however takes it on , endeavour , for me , like .

I wouldn't be disappointed if we got Kranjcar, but I'd like to see Bily given a go. When he's come on recently he's seemed like he's really been giving it a go and his goals record for us is pretty much identical to Krancjar's for Spurs.

We've also got Gueye queuing up for a place on the left.

Bentley would make more sense. Perhaps we could do a deal with Spurs along the lines that they take Pienaar in January and we have Bentley on loan. If he settles, then we get a big discount on him. If not, they give us a modest fee for the remaining six months of Peanuts' contract.

Pre-clusive wages , I understand .

Remember , this is a lad whom was en route to Finch Farm on EACH of the last 2 Transfer-Deadline Days .

As others have said ANYTHING is better than Steven leaving on a free. Would love to have him finish the season as the pace factor is so important, but letting him go for free with our budget would be ludicrous. I would be happy with Kranjcar if we could find some way to get some pace on the outside. Not sure how we'll do that though.

Don't think Kranjcar is a direct replacement for Pienaar? I rate Kranjcar alot his movement is nowhere near as good though, hes pretty static all game. What he does have is a great strike and the ability to see a pass. Less energetic though and I feel Pienaars energy is a major factor within our side! Still a good signing if it happens! Just not sure it will!

I watched Spurs' game against Twente the other week to see what Krancjar was like...I found him to be a technically good player but....let's just say that he didn't move around alot...unlike Pienaar who is a very 'busy' player...

It's VERY likely , lad .
