2 of Doucoure, Gbamin, Gomes and Delph? That's quite a lot of strength in depth, too much for me. I mean Siggurdsson has to play in the 3 surely? Otherwise there's no goals in that middle 3 and not too much creativity tbh. We won't be shoehoring siggurdsson out wide either, surely, so where does our most creative player then play?

But regardless, I don't think we'll get Doucoure and agree it's not a priority.

We need a wide forward who can guarantee us goals, and a CB. A RB is an added bonus, depending on what happens with Holgate.

Seems there are a lot of similarities with Doucoure and for whatever reason we are not ruling out another midfielder. (I do wonder if this is to cover fro Schneiderlin if he were to leave alongside McCarthy & Besic).

Kessie may well have a higher ceiling than Doucoure, but with Doucoure you are getting a very versatile player who knows the league inside out. It's a hard balancing act. I'd be delighted with either (but really like Doucoure).

They know very little. I suspect we got out 25 million, but we'll never know as it won't be published.

German press said €18m potentially rising to €25m. This is where the £16m comes from I think.

Just maybe silva is looking to the RS. Their midfield lacks creativity, but they gain their attacking impetus from their full backs and their front 3 which are interchangeable. We could do likewise with our midfield, Gomes is better then any midfielder they have and to have Doucoure and Gbamin alongside him would give much needed steel and a physical presence to our midfield. However we really need a full back of the attacking standard of Digne to replace Coleman. In addition to this, zaha who could play anywhere across the front 3. Not much to ask is it????

I agreed with you until I saw the stats. He scored 12 goals over the last 2 seasons and similar amounts in assists. Stats can be misleading, but as a primarily defensive player, they are a useful return.

Me neither. If we do though, and buy a centre half aswell, our expectations have got to change quite dramatically I think. You can't drop £200m in a summer window and accept 7th, top 6 would have to become the absolute minimum acceptable outcome if we bought players of that calibre/price.

The closer we get to the window SLAMMING SHUT, the more confident I am that we’re nailed on to get Zouma, bizarrely. I’ll be sure to vault myself when we panic-sign Cahill after shipping 5 to Palace.

Yeah it seems that way, but they don't have a creative player worth £45m who can get double figures in goals and assists either. He has to play for me.

We definitely need another striker. Kean is very young and all the responsibility cannot fall on his shoulders. Plus if we lose him to injury we are back to square one again and DCL.

As well as this we obviously need another centre back.

I’d keep Holgate as RB cover but if they decide to let him go then it means they don’t think he’s up to it so we have to trust that decision.

Another CM is purely dependent on whether they let Schneiderlin go or not.

You'd have to allow everyone time to settle in of course, but we'd have a strong First XI and good squad depth if we signed all of those players
