Deffo , but I read somewhere that loaning bolasie is actually better for FFP than selling him for say 6m. Even tho his wages would be gone it would go down as a loss even tho we get the fee, weird way of doing it in my eyes
No, it makes sense, although they may have already written down his value via impairment. We definitely wrote some registrations down in the past.

What?

We are where we are now, if we sold him for 10m we would have the 10m and also wouldn’t have to pay him 4m this season.

It’s can’t be better to pay him 4m and even if we did manage to get 10m next season with a year left we would be 4m worse off than booting him out now.

I know how they calculate it and their rules but they’re weird and don’t really make sense. It cannot be beneficial to keep someone that you won’t play , pay him then sell him later when his value is less than it currently is .

It all depends on what his current book value is. If we sell below the book value we make a loss on the transfer but save wages. If we loan we save wages and don’t incur any loss but will have to have one more year of amortisation... which could be the same or more than the loss in any event

I bet a lot of clubs across Europe are kicking themselves at the fact they could have attained Kean's services for an extremely modest fee.

Apparently, according to fans of other teams;

1. If he’s went to us, it’s because no one else was in for him.

2. If the fee is so low it’s because he isn’t that good.

3. If he’s that good and Juventus let him go, it’s because he’s a wrong un.

Naturally....

What comes across is how out of the loop journalists are when it comes to who we're interested in. It's almost 60s-era stuff. I like it.

And thank you for compiling this every morning. Like many others it's the post I most look forward to
