He looks almost as happy as Aaron Lennon did!

Obviously now with his depression issue there are certain points which should be treaded carefully around (I myself suffered depression for a time, did the cognitive therapy and all the rest) ... but the ‘Aaron Lennon to Everton montage’ always has me in stitches.

I know it can be argued that life as a central midfielder is easier when you’ve got quality around you like city has but I didn’t realise how good his passing range is. Seems to want to play forwards most of the time. I think our forward players will love him.

Without him kicking a ball for us in anger yet, i am quickly becoming happier & happier with his arrival at the price paid. I think i just needed 48hrs to really digest it.
Not a game changing addition but one that looks quite smart once you climb off the wall in anger that he's not a striker, right back or centre back or 18 years old with a £35m price tag that we all want.

Love these snippets from his interview something we really need

Same Desire

“Every player wants to play football.
“Whether I’m on the pitch or off the pitch you will get the same drive and desire from me.
“I came through at Leeds and work ethic was driven into me. Nothing will change.”

Winning Mentality
“It probably comes easier to me because I’m one of the older players.
“You don’t have to be the best player in the team to have an effect on people, to drive and to set standards high with good habits.
“The winning mentality is massive. Everyone needs to be on it and have that mentality in training.
“We need to prepare properly away from the pitch and recover properly.

Following his departure, Guardiola shared nothing but classy words for the England international, as he wished him all the best at a 'big club like Everton'.

“It was an incredible three years for us,” Guardiola told City's official website."Personally, he helped me a lot and helped us a lot, especially two seasons ago when we won the league with him playing in a position that he isn’t used to.

“Normally he is a midfield player, but he played full-back and everyone here, all the club, all the staff, all his mates wish him all the best in a big club like Everton.”

Pep's grateful for that 0-0 at Goodison I see ;)

Was impressed with him in that conference. Didnt need anyone holding his hand, no dodging and evading, just tells it as it is and very confident. Could end up being a really good buy this lad.
