1. Sorry but that’s what is reported so don’t know how to tell you that’s not the case otherwise.

2. Neres - Above the average in Eredivisie / mediocre in CL / couple international appearances

Lozano - Top 3 Eredivisie player / PSV’s best in CL with 2g:1g in the group of death / has been the main player and staple of Mexican national team through CONCACAF and WC

3. Yes Neres is overpriced. What the teams ask is in no way related to their true value. Asking price > true value = overpriced (simple physics again). You are right PSV and Ajax are separate team but that’s completely irrelevant and a mute point when they are both participating in the same market so failing to see any point in that statement?

4. Hell if team spirit is worth £40m I’m sure @davek is worth at least £5m then and should’ve offered him a contract yesterday.

1 -- You quoted an article on vital football saying his value was 17mil....

2 -- I think most of the forum knows who Lozano / Neres are...

3 -- PSV and Ajax arent participating in the same market...unless you count them both being Dutch?

One team was a whisker away from the Champions League final and earnt a fortune from that and so are able to ask whatever price they desire seeing as De Jong and soon De Ligt will bring in a huge pot for them. They will be cash rich.

So its not a 'mute' point and neither is it a 'moot' point ;)

4 -- Players have other attributes other than on the pitch...knowing they get along with other players in the team has to be a positive.

In short, Ajax can ask whatever they want for the player and if Brands and Silva see something which can benefit the squad worthy of that fee then they will try and sign him.

Whoa. Neres had some of his best games in the CL. That’s probably the primary drive for his price being high.

Indeed he did + thats now recognised by Brazil, a team Malcom has yet to be capped by...and yet valued at a similar amount.

Malcom did have impressive numbers in a better league for what it's worth. Both are great young talents.

I'm pretty sure the release clause is real

Hakim Ziyech has no limited lump sum in his Ajax contract. General manager Edwin van der Sar says that the club does not work with fixed lump sum payments. At some other clubs that is the case.

"No, we don't work with that at Ajax," says Van der Sar at Inside Ajax . "We try to arrange it well for players in the contract. That there is a good reward that matches the status and position they have in the team, but we don't work with fixed lump sum payments."

Van der Sar is happy that Ziyech remains with Ajax. This is important for several reasons. "He has told De Telegraaf that he will stay this year. We are playing a lot of matches with the Champions League and the cup, so we need a lot of players. At the end of the year we also want to win a prize."

Ajax expressed the ambition to keep the players together several times. "We wanted to keep the group intact and have made agreements with Hakim," continues Van der Sar. "We have retained the rest with the idea that we want to perform as Ajax. It is great that they are developing, but we also want to benefit from those players. That has to happen this year."

Ziyech received a substantially upgraded contract and David Neres also signed his deal with a new deal. Whether there is more in the barrel? "Marc (Overmars, ed.) And the rest of the management always look at what the next step is that players have to take, but a number of players are set for longer. Frenkie de Jong made his debut in the Dutch national team on Thursday, Onana last year a contract, we only got Tagliafico, so I think it works pretty well. "
