Stats

46 points (1.35 per game), 20 points off top 4 but they do have a game in hand. 3 less than last season.
Scored 46 goals, Joint 9th most in PL with Leicester and behind the top 6, Watford and Bournemouth (Avg 1.35 per game)
Conceded 44 goals, Joint 8th least with Man Utd behind the top 5, Wolves and Newcastle. (Avg 1.29 per game)
Record W13 D7 L14 (Win 38%, Draw 21%, Lose 41%)

My opinion towards Silva has softened since February where I`d have said pack him on his way, since then we have won 4 (Cardiff, Chelsea, West Ham & Arsenal) Drawn 1 (Liverpool) and lost 2 (Newcastle and Fulham). Such is the season we are having that we get some good results followed something pretty horrific. I wonder if the players and management believe their own hype and are caught over confident or complacent or is there something else? How can the players lack ability when beating top 6 sides but are capable of losing to relegated teams who haven`t won for months. It must come back to attitude and desire, whatever it is ultimately rests on the managers shoulders. He will be responsible for every time he takes the wins, taking the plaudits but at the same time he cant blame the players for defeats, they are his responsibility as well.

Probably still in the out camp, my feeling is that with MS we are likely to be inconsistent and you will not get anywhere like that. I also feel is this the best person we can get for the job, perhaps it is and that is a real indication of where we are as a club right now. I am certainly all for giving a manager a chance but is the best we can do relegated managers? I want this board to be ambitious and live up to our motto Nil Satis Nisi Optimum, the club has lost touch with this I feel... #theblues
Makes no sense whatsoever.

You list 7 of the 14 defeats we had but only 2 of the 13 wins.

That's just cock-eyed.

He's a good manager. I've seen him out-manoeuvre the best managers in this league. The only question is whether he's a consistently good manager.
I think he has some good attributes, that's fair. He's also got some very bad ones, game management seems to be an issue. When we go a goal behind, we might as well expect that it's unlikely we'll get more than a point from the game, with a loss the most likely result.

He has shown he can get his zonal marking system across, I'll give him that.

There's definitely been more bad than good, but he's going to be here next season anyway, so he'll be afforded the time to rectify issues.

There is a bad attitude problem in this squad as well, he has to show a strong hand in sorting that out.

He certainly has outmanoeuvred the best.

But then come unstuck against Scott Parker.

I think my only questions are similar to yours. Oddly you’re putting them in a more positive light than me.

We’ve changed.

I’ll never ever stop laughing at people that wanted Manuel Pellegrini to manage Everton hahahahahahahahahahaha

If West ham could get him, I don't see why we couldn't.

Yes he won the league with man city, and yes he managed real Madrid. But I still think there is a chance we could of got him.

Our last 5 managers have come from Preston, wigan, Southampton, crystal palace and watford.

I think you missed the point harv. Again.

We could have got him dead easy. But thank Christ we didn’t.

Looking at the season as a whole, so far with just 4 games left.

Currently 9th
3 points behind last seasons total with a better team, but we have 4 games to go. Man Utd (H), Crystal Palace (A), Burnley (H) and Spurs (A).

Slightly obscured vision here tbh. A better team? Certainly on paper it seems that way but there's still a lot of dead wood in there, whether up front or on the bench.

In all honesty, our only successful season since Moyes leaving was Martinez' first and he had a natural goal scorer up top. Give Silva credit, he's found a way to win games despite having no regular goalscorer up top. I mean context here is important, as all teams above us and also Burnley, Bournemouth, Fulham, Brighton, Southampton and Newcastle all have a centre-forward who has scored more than DCL.

Give Silva the summer to sort out this squad a bit further with he help of brands then next season the jury will be out. I'm happy enough with the progress this season, obviously wanted more, but totally appreciate patience is needed when the team was in as big a hole as it was under Koeman and Walsh.
