But this is the only reason why fans want it, for a boss way day.
It's not because of the football, it's for drinkies with the lads.

I've done it, yeah it's fun, but so is watching Everton playing in the league, let's sort that first.

But that’s exactly the point isn’t it? I mean it’s not about the football. As a fan I’m not on the pitch, the cup or the medal is not coming home with me. The only thing I get is the experience and the memories of the brilliant away trips with my mates that European football brings. Never in my life do I think I’ll ever visit places like kharkhiv, Olomouc, Bergen etc ever again. And why should I? But the memories of those place are still talked about. These are the opportunities that supporting Everton occasionally gives me.

I was fortunate enough to play rugby at international and European club level so I can appreciate the difference between the experience of being on the pitch and off the pitch for the purpose of this argument. It’s genuinely a different experience as a fan and whether you’re a fan or a player, you have to understand what’s the most you can expect that’s always yours to keep. For players that’s (hopefully) medals and experiences. For fans it’s memories of different places with friends and experiences.

Bob on. Couldn’t agree more.

But I agree with both sides of the argument. I still believe the Spurs model is the model to follow. Continuous qualification to Europa, build your reputation, then make the top 4.

It’ll take 4-5 years to do that, but still thinknits the most solid way to do it.

We’ve got kids there who are going to win the league again, we’ve got fringe players. If we got in, I wouldn’t be afraid of using the likes of Hornsby against the likes of Sigma Olomouc. If we go out, we go out. But they’ll still get that experience.

If we make the group, rotate the first team, and if we go beyond integrate them more.

We need to beat both Arsenal and Man Utd at home, or at least get 4 points from them.

Other teams have shown that they are beatable, can we?

Clubs at the level Everton are now at find they struggle in the premier league when they are also involved in Europe, too many games, too much travelling, at the moment Everton being involved in The Europa league would definitely be detrimental to their chances of finishing in the top six of the premier league, I have absolutely no doubt about that, no doubt at all.

Don't want it this year. The last thing we need next season is another distraction and the season starting early. Regroup this summer, continue to strengthen and push on the in league. We don't have the squad to compete in the Europa just yet - the squad was utterly gassed at Christmas before you factor in another 8 or so games the Europa would have meant. I feel having another season out of that will allow us to perform stronger in the league and aim to compete somewhat with the top 6 next season.

I think the Europa League can definitely play a psychological effect on the squad but it's interesting how it's being used by some as a cause for Burnley's poor season. They didn't even qualify for the main competition lol.

I also think the vast majority of times that teams do badly cause of the Europa League is due to a self fulfilling prophecy where players and managers believe that it is going to disrupt their season. Pathetic really.

Its not 'embarrassing' at all. Wolves have played well most of the season and have done well in some key games, and Watford had a blip but have recovered. Credit were its due. Next season is the big one for Everton.
Of course it is embarrassing to finish behind a newly promoted team and another team who blamed us for their poor league form, along with taking their best player.

It's always 'next season'
