Of course mate but that's not entirely Silva's fault, Some of our player have missed some absolute sitters this season in crucial moments.
Bernard at United.
Richarlison at City.
Mina against Liverpool.
Just to name a few, The Newcastle game just sums our season up we can be good when we want to be but it's easily thrown away due to stupid errors that shouldn't be happening.

It’s always fascinating how this logic get’s trotted out but it’s not applied the other way when we’ve taken points we weren’t really due on the basis of the performance ala Watford and Huddersfield to name but two.

A decent manager could and should of got this group of players at a minimum challenging for top six . Silva is a mediocre manager. If your happy with that, good luck next season, you'll just get more of the same. Our forth defeat in a row at Watford! At a minimum we should be beating the bottom four sides comfortably home and away, ring any bells.
Except all the teams currently in the top six are miles better than us.

I agree however even this season we spent near £90 million and you would imagine this summer if we keep Silva we'll likely spend around the £100 million mark factoring in outgoing sales.

Realistically at some point the deicison will be made to either:

a. Reduce the spending to a level seen more at clubs like Watford, Bournemouth and West Ham (outside this season) and be happy with floating around 8-11th as seen this season

Or

b. Keep spending this level of money and seriously challenge for the top 6/7 and cups.

If its B you would imagine Silva (and any future manager) will have at most 2 seasons to meet that target to justify the spend on players.

First of all we didnt spend 90m this Summer.

We spent 80m, but we got back around 20m in sales, plus some very minor loan fees.

Going forward we are unlikely to see mega net spends, simply due to the cupboard being empty.

We do still have lots of assets, so its not all doom and gloom, but if you think we are gonna entice Jose here with a promise to spend 200m, we really do not have that, anymore.

Marcel Brands managed to get PSV to win League titles with a negative net spend of 100m, so we dont need loads of money, we simply need a manager that has shown he can beat the "bigger" teams in the league. :coffee:

Something says KEEP HIM.

It has been a bad season result wise, but at times the football is a lot better. He has to work on defence. But let him have another go.

Why does everyone keep saying this? This team has made a massive leap forward from last years defensive performance.

lollollol crying at this. A load of crap players and crap managers left crap clubs to sign for us on treble their wage, that means we’re a big club.

No lad.

If you seriously believe we are still not seen in the game as a big club (and by that I dont mean an elite club ie. Top 6) then I dont know what to say to you.

Players and managers of clubs dont jump at the chance to join Bournemouth and Palace at the first flash of leg for example.

Watford, Southampton etc. Won't be moving to a new 52k+ seater stadium anytime soon

None of those clubs have anywhere near the size of fanbase or past honours.

Keep peddling the small club excuses if it makes justfiy our current plight any easier for you mate

This is madness hahaha. You're actually complaining that we've beaten Chelsea, the first top 6 win in 25 matches or so. Catch a grip mate.

Oh no, not complaining about the win. Just saying it’s too early to put the pitch forks away. In the context of the season as a whole this result is an anomaly just like a couple of other outlying results. It’s not a “corner turning” moment either. Those come only when you still have the pressure to play for something.
