I hope so, obvioulsy. But two games in 3/4 days after that brutally draining LC final is going to tell. They can rotate, but they have limits. Just look at how poor Mahrez was last night.

I said last night that City need a massive De Bruyne input of his best form to get through this period.
This in a nutshell. City have just won the first of an almost unfeasible quadruple if you believe the hype merchants. It was 120 minutes on Sunday, with penalties and (win or lose) there was bound to be a huge wave of emotions which was liable to leave them flat for yesterday's game. The fact that they had 80% possession and 20 attempts show to me that City are a supremely talented team (with considerable desire), that may well be on the ascent to being the best English team of the premier league era and potentially on par with the elite club teams from history.

A rs wobble against us, and they can see the daylight on part 2 of that quadruple. I think the CL is beyond City, but a domestic double or treble is well within their capacity.

I am sorry about not talking about the rs in the rs thread, but they're one or two players out away from hitting the skids. I reckon they'll be 5 or 6 points off the top at at the end of the season. That's actually pretty good, considering how much I rate the City team.

Fingers crossed mate.

I said in another thread today that 3 games in 6 days for City at this point of the season is a huge ask...especially with ET and pens at Wembley.

If they beat Bournemouth it'll be a huge victory.

City will be knackered but (and I’m hoping I won’t die saying this) Bournemouth aren’t the sort of defensive counter punching team that have caused City problems like Palace Leicester Newcastle. They’ll play expansively at home like they always do. Would take an amazing performance for them to outfootball City. But without Fernandinho City are a different animal as arguably none of the three who made up an irrepressible midfield last season of Fernandinho De Bruyne Silva are in form.

Reckon City reasserting their class has broken the Red Bottlers. For them to get the fail-monkey off their back they'd need a clear run at it where they are the best (or close to) team. Now it is completely obvious to everyone, their fans, their players, everyone else, that they are not in City's league. Basically gives them an excuse, deep down, to come second.

Yep. I think De Bruyne might relish the matle. But if he continues with this seasons stop-start form I fear for City.

City had 20 shots on target last night mate.

They will be fine without Fernandinho, people acting like KDB and David Silva arent the best midfielders in the league.

As recently as December 2018 we went there and gave them a game. 5 of the last 6 at Goodison have been draws. As bad as our record is against them, we don’t just give up as soon as the whistle is blown, we’re not in the Watford and Norwich category.
I'm just remembering that horrible 4-0 where they decided to screw with us by seeing if they could get Lucas Leiva to score.

I think ekeing out a win like that one last night, playing poorly after the highs of Sunday, is the mark of champions.

Mahrez is the big worry though, should Bernardo Silva pick up an injury.

As you have pointed out severa times, he looks totally out of place in that team.

If Bernardo gets injured then Sterling just comes in?
