Phil Jagielka may look a little more like an Everton supporter these days than an Everton player but he still knows how to defend and how to organise a defence.
He made mistakes but I think that would be expected of any player who has played maybe three games in about six months.

In the summer we need a centre half who is a leader and an organiser, Keane, Zouma and/or Mina could easily play alongside such a player.
It may be that Mina may in time be that kind of player but certainly we have not seen that yet from him.

Would argue that it would need to be an English center half for communication reasons etc. Who do you think we should sign, would need to be an experienced CB.

Would he be good in a back three? I know playing to the strengths of your players, rather than following your managerial “philosophy” is unfashionable these days, but it could help the other defenders develop as well.

Genuinely think it would have been curtains for him if we'd have lost yesterday and then got beat in the Derby, Goodison would have incredibly toxic that it was difficult to envisage him surviving - so yesterday was a massive, massive win for him.

I don't think he's out of the woods yet, a Derby defeat could spiral us down the same sort of dreadful form that the reverse fixture did, so a point at the weekend at the very least is imperative.

I really want him to do well, he's a likeable manager and goes about his business in the right way. Hopefully a positive result in the Derby can serve as a spring board for a really good end to the season.

It's hard to judge that Cardiff game because they were abysmal and I don't think we were great either. Liverpool on their day would put four or five past us without reply. Yesterday's win reminded me of the 3-1 win away at Villa in 2016, when Mosh took over. Villa were dead at that point and I think Cardiff aren't far off. It was a win that could help his career but it's what he does in the upcoming home games for me. Let's at least give the top 6 sides a decent game.

You’ve already been banned once for the relentless dirge you post.

Go outside for a bit, the weather is glorious,

1. I haven't been banned

2. Ive just finished work so chilling with a pint thanks for your concern.

I'm not being bullied so either accept it and co exist or put me on ignore for your own sake as you seem a tad upset and I dont want to be forever going in tedious circles ;)
