Short memory mate. He very much disrespected us when he was manager at our biggest rivals.
No doubt a quality manager but as soon as things go wrong or there is a dip it would be even more toxic than it is now.
I remember his comment about the " small club" only too well. But, in football, you have to accept a certain amount of banter and he was in poor form after that game.
I think we have taken too many chances on managers in recent years and they haven't worked since
David Moyes.
I think Benitez could get us up contesting for a top six spot initially and if we can get back to the level it will be easier to attract the level of manager we need.
At the moment we simply are not attractive to the managers we would like to bring in.
The only thing that might change that would be an open cheque book but I think we won't see that for a while again.
