I have posted this previously.

This record is simply not good enough.

69 Premier league games and a goal difference of -30.

Its not good enough no, but my point was we should judge him on what he does for us.

The poster claimed it doesnt matter what he does in the remaining 11 games and that might well be correct, what we have seen so far is miles away from what we expect, but if we were to win a derby, beat the other top teams at Goodison and pick up some away wins, it would show something, whether its enough we should surely judge at the end of the season.
Win % 32
Draw % 20
Lose % 48
Goals scored per game 1.29
Goal conceded per game 1.72

Wins just over a quarter of all his games, draws nearly a quarter and LOSES nearly half of all his games!!!

Using these percentages across a 38 game season we would finish with the following :-

P38 W12 D8 L18 F49 A65 GD16 Points 44

So we need a point a game to match his average, not looking good really is it.

@ForeverEverton completely agree we've been crap for at least half of the season, and results have been disappointing.

But at the start of the season the footy was decent and we were going through a big shift in playing style.

The argument seems to be sometimes that we should - or have a right because we're Everton - beat certain teams. Unfortunately, that argument doesn't stand up when our squads are at the same level, if not lower.

Wolves are 7th because they should be. Even on paper they have a better team, and clearly they seem to have a more astute manager. Watford have players they can rely on - that whatever happens won't go hiding (Deeney, Doucoure, Foster etc). Leicester have a reliable striker. Bournemouth are hot when they're on it, dreadful when they're not. West Ham are very much like us, tbh.

Never. So people keep digging up more excuses. Wolves a better team on papers what’s this?

I think , if we lose to Cardiff on Tuesday and at home in the derby, the writing will be on the wall for him.

He has had 17 days with no game, chance to work on the mistakes and faults we have shown recently, if we see no improvement on Tuesday, surely Marco himself will realise that his time could be up.

The board could have a huge decision to make this coming week.

At the start of the season we played some good stuff without much reward. West Ham game we were dreadful, and v Arsenal we were unfortunate.

If you take our first 9 lg games (a third of the season)

Wolves (A) - 2-2 (with 10 men for an hour, unlucky not to win)
S'ton (H) - 2-1
B'mouth (A) - 2-2
Huddersfield (H) - 1-1
West Ham (H) - 1-3
Arsenal (A) - 0-2
Fulham (H) - 3-0
Leicester (A) - 2-1
Palace (H) - 2-1

Overall, decent. We'd started to hit our stride with three successive wins by the time the team had settled (the team having had to go from playing under Allardyce to playing a completely different way, while three players who were brought in to play Silva's way weren't even fit).

Next, the middle. By the derby, due to those three wins above and some decent performances, we were in 6th. Stop with rubbish comments that we weren't playing well, we were.

Man Utd (A) - 1-2
Brighton (H) - 3-1
Chelsea (A) - 0-0 (Chelsea had won like 10 in a row or something at that point)
Cardiff (H) - 1-0
Liverpool (A) - 0-0
Newcastle (H) - 1-1
Watford (H) - 2-2
City (A) - 1-3
Spurs (H) - 2-6

So, the second part of the season (based on the thirds). Confident to begin with, then the derby happens, and we can't recover the form. The footy was still good, and the team still looked to have a system and style that worked.

Third part...

Burnley (A) - 5-1
Brighton (A) - 0-1
Leicester (H) - 0-1
B'mouth (H) - 2-1
S'ton (A) - 1-2
Huddersfield (H) - 1-0
Wolves (H) - 1-3
City (H) - 0-2
Watford (A) - 0-1

As I said, recently (i.e. the last third and the tail end of the second third) it's been very bad.

Make your own minds up!

But is this what we have become? Arguing about good parts and bad parts of the season? Marco Silva is not good enough for Everton, he has done noting to have warranted the appointment in the 1st place........

I don't understand the argument that we can't keep sacking managers. I'd agree if we were finishing 6th or 7th and there were signs that things might push on but the reality is we're sacking managers because their teams look like they are in freefall and we are playing our way into trouble. I don't agree with sacking managers arbitrarily but we cannot persist with a manager whose problems are getting worse and worse. If we avoid relegation, and though unlikely, I'm not convinced we are anywhere near safe, I have no doubt that the start of next season will be like the end of this season

Wolves have a better team than us yes.

  • They have a better GK
  • They have a better RB
  • Coady is better than any of our CBs
  • Jonny isn't as good as Digne but is actually a RB playing LB - so they have two better RBs!
  • Neves and Moutinho would walk into our midfield
  • They have a better striker

We'd get 4-5 players in their team. They'd get 6 in ours, at least.

Totally agree.

That is extremely, extremely kind. I’ve been struggling to think of anyone outside of Digne.

On current form I don't even think he'd get in. They're all rubbish.
Which goes back to the question: what does he ACTUALLY do? He dorsnt make any player better then what they were last year, he doesn't have a plan A much less a plan B, he doesn't have any idea what a defence is SUPPOSED to do and he doesn't have ANY idea how to break teams down.

People will probably say Gueye and Sigurdsson would get in their team, but they wouldn’t. They might make the bench, but they’d hardly ever get on. We are very bad.
Of course its easy to say when we are severely out of form and they are playing well.

If both teams were in form, I'd probably have Gomes, Richarlison, Digne, one of our centre backs (because Bennett is rubbish) and maybe Bernard or Sigurdsson.

But at the moment, I'd swap our whole team for Raul Jimenez.
