Wonder if Sarri will be sacked before him? Would they give him more time? It’s criminal they still don’t have the Drogba’s replacement...

He saw out his contract?
No different than clubs can talk to players in their last 6 months/year and agree they will move at the completion.

His poor attempt to land Baines and Fellaini annoyed some, but you can't say even when he had agreed to join UTD, that he didn't put in 100% here.
That’s the thing - he stayed here for years and consistently saw his best players sold from under him, but he stayed loyal. He only left when he was offered a job pretty much impossible to turn down.

Thing is, he is so blunt he probably didn’t even mean to offend anyone over the Fellaini and Baines offer, but he made himself look a bit of a t***. Apart from that he has always spoken about us in the highest terms, which is certainly more can be said for some former players.

He did far more good than harm to the club over the years, and it amazes me how bitter some people still are. Especially given we had the last laugh after getting him the sack, and while he has struggled, we came into big money. Thing is we have peed it up against the wall on mediocre players that would never have passed muster under his watch.”, given how careful he was with the clubs money.

As much as i didn’t want him in the first place - I backed him. And I now want him out.

BUT — he will get til the end of the season at least... and I suspect he will have til Christmas to save his job.

I’m holding out for hope that we limp to the end of the season and then within a month all the turd has been cleansed - that SHOULD loosen the pursestrings and allow us to recruit.

If he stays he has to convince zouma and Gomes to stay - I think them two in a settled team will be a different prospect
I will never understand why people give a "and X games next year" and think that's not utterly irresponsible. Nothing against you, but where the hell are we getting in a competent manager in November December or January when it doesn't work?

I think the minimum expectation for the season, was for a good crack at finishing 6th, a good run in the cups, and progression in our style of play, and just signs that we are closing the gap on the elite.Well we bombed in both domestic cups, he put out a weakened team against Southampton in the league cup.If Wolves in 7th win their two games in hand, then they will be 11 points ahead of us.If Watford in 8th win their game in hand, then they will be 7 points ahead of us.If West Ham, Bournemouth and Leicester win their games in hand, then that will send us down to 12th.If Southampton in 18th win their game in hand, then they will be 6 points behind us.

I think you can all see the problem here. This Silva fella has failed all tests with flying colours. What happens between now and the end of the season, is a total and utter irrelevance. This season has been a failure.Silva has failed dismally, to meet the minimum expectations that were asked of him.I think when a manager fails to achieve the bare minimum that's asked of him, then thats reason enough to get the sack.Apparently Silva is wondering if he and his players, need a holiday. As far as im concerned, the whole lot of them have been on holidays, for the last two months.Funnily enough i think Silva, will have enough free time to plan as many holidays as he likes, a hell of a lot sooner than later.

I genuinely think he's been told that as long as we're not relegated he's fine. Disgusting if true like. We should have been aiming to press the top six this season, now we're very unlikely to finish top half and if he's not sacked are even at risk of being dragged into the relegation fight.

Realistically, i think top 6 this season was always going to be a little bit ambitious, however i think if we had maintained our " pre derby" form a comfortable 7th or 8th was definitely achievable.

The fact is, that result seems to have knocked the stuffing out of us and unfortunately , our manager does not seem to have the ability or man management skills to re instil the confidence in the players.

The way this season is mirroring his performance with Watford last year is frightening, it begs the question

Did he down tools because of the " tap up"?

or

Is he really not up to the job of managing in the Premier League?

IMO, the latter seems to be the answer at the moment.

we should hire these 'progressive' type foreign managers every summer and sack them every February and have bfs every last quarter of every season to stay in the league. everyone wins.

Did he down tools due to the ‘tap up’ or not good up to the job. If it’s due to the ‘tap up’ then it shows how unprofessional he is. First sign of of something better coming along then he’s off. We don’t need that. If it’s the latter then we don’t need that either.
