A lot of what he says means nothing just good at the waffle if one hear and understand him.
This is my experience too. He's just not at all interesting to listen to - bland, sanitizer, characterless waffle. No humour, no passion, no unique insight. Quite how he motivates people with that mumbling monotone is beyond me.

Mind you, the bland questions from the media don't help.

To be most liberal on the Silva defence criticism you would say it's both the players and Silva blame which still doesn't get Silva off death row.

Think his personality is a problem tbh. Very bland and not engaging. Seem to get cut some slack from the media if you have a bit about you which he doesn't . This has to be same in the dressing room and is a problem for motivating players

You’re putting words there that aren’t.
You're misreading the quote. You've always got to remember that English is not his first language.

"It was clear to me that it was the best XI to win the match".

Thats what he thought was the team that would give him the best chance of winning the match.

Add to that, that he might not even think that but is saying it purely because he has to. He's not gonna say I dropped Richarlison to rest him ahead of a more winnable game is he?

Or that he's been blowing out of his backside for a few games now and almost looked disenchanted when you consider his recent theatrics - it is what it is!

It's easy for people to complain with the wonderful advantage of hindsight but in reality we did a fairly decent job against City, so to an extent he was correct.

Walcott was woeful in an attacking sense, especially for the first half, and didn't mark Sane particularly well, however usually it's something he's fairly capable at.
