At some point, you have to make a play as a player. Marco can't play for them. Two guys sitting right in the middle of the D. Just standing there. Right there. No one even adjusts to the ball or attempts to win it.

True. However if aerial anticipation is not a strong suit of your players, than you fix the system in order to accomodate your squad. Not just stand by and squander dozens of points.

Said it in the match thread but can the defenders not say “we never conceded like this at our previous clubs, we defended set pieces like x,y,z etc.” To whatever knobhead is trying to organise them in training?
 

First of all the high line is ridiculous.
Our slow defenders ends up running towards goal while trying to head to ball clear in the opposite direction the ball flew from while “defending” his zone and at the same time react within split second any opposing players running towards goal with a running jump which is going to be a massive advantage.
