He's been employed to do exactly that. And as DoF he's there to do it as efficiently as possible.

I dont know about you, but I'd say continually loaning out players and renewing loans when your stated intention is to get players in ONLY by selling players looks less than efficient.

Getting wages off the books for frankly unsaleable players is where we are. In the accounts, another year ticks by re their "value". You can fume and rage, but even trying to get some out on a free, while still contracted, just aint gonna happen.

....it’s better than keeping Bolasie for 2.5 years on £80k per week and all he does is train with the youngsters every day.

I suspect the only way of getting rid on a permanent is to sell at less than £10m, so he pockets £1m of the fee and perhaps get £1m signing fee. Even then, it would hardly compensate his loss of wage. I can’t see anybody paying him more than £30k per week.

I know you disagree but I don’t think i’m alone in thinking Brands will have to work some magic to shift Bolasie and Sandro.

Its not just his wage, selling him at a massive loss affects us with regards FFP and STCC and more importantly our balance sheet, which in turn means we are less appealing to stadium investors, but we cant expect Caveman dave to understand how football finance works, He only knows how to say CAVEMAN FIRE.

That simply doesn't wash for some of the players we have out on loan. There's so many of them that it just beggars belief. Brands must have boxed himself into a corner in the summer with the loan term arrangements. He's paying for that lack of foresight now when we desperately need to sell to buy.

I think he’s made up his mind re Brands so any sense will go out the window.

The players aren’t going to just accept lower wages when they could be earning more with us until their contract finishes, so it’s going to be hard to get them to go. Then the clubs know we’re desperate to get rid so won’t pay a big fee.

The only option is to loan out, get rid of as much wages as possible then hopefully they’ll buy them at the end of the loan if they’re successful, like what looks to be happening with Mirralas and Martina.

Can’t force other clubs to buy our unwanted players

Technical director Martin van Geel is happy to have been able to act quickly, after research revealed Tuesday that Eric Botteghin has been eliminated for the rest of the season due to a knee injury. 'It is very sad for Eric that he can not be there for so long. Now that he has fallen away, we would be hard to absorb any new setbacks in the defense. We overcome this with Martina, who in the past was already on the radar with us, is very experienced and versatile, can play on all positions in the defense and also knows the city and the club, "says Van Geel.

Looks like they went for him last few days, but have been after him before now as well lol

but he can’t sell them if they aren’t wanted on permanent deals. He somehow managed to get tubby off on a season long loan - robbed stoke there.

Also got bolasie not one but two loans.
Martina two loans but permanently end of season
Besic would have been a permanent deal and will be moved on end of season more than likely.

What do you want him to do? He can’t focus solely on selling as he needs to recruit also.
Again I’m not meaning to have a go at brands but for the sake of balance it needs to be pointed out that finding someone willing to loan a player who cost £28m 2 years earlier is not an achievement. It’s not doing a bad job but can we stop making out like it’s a miracle?
