What I was trying to explain was Moyes did much more than Martinez. Most Martinez’s signings were crap.
I agree
With very limited funds Moyes did an excellent job
Martinez got lucky with his 2 good signings Lukaku and Barry
He signed some absolutely bad players
It’s why international management suits him
He cannot sign players and he’s lucky he got Belgium’s golden generation

I’m not talking about at Goodison, Moyes used to get plenty of wins at Goodison against them. Martinez couldn’t fix the mentality problem away from home and in big cup games when it mattered.

Well, Bob won at Old Trafford and played Arsenal off the pitch at Emirates in the space of four days.

I don't think many people would argue with that. Moyes' weakness was that when he had a lot of money, he often mis-spent it (Beattie, Bily, Kroldrup). He was great at spotting talent for relatively small sums.

And Yakubu. We lost a great deal of money we should have sold him to Spurs or something given the chance.

We actually did not lose as much for the abovementioned three players. We still got fair bit of money back.

Yakubu suffered a bad injury and missed almost a whole season; there were reports that we were on the verge of selling him to Spurs around the time he got injured.

We were very unlucky, even by Everton standadrs, that season. We lost Yakubu, Arteta, Jagielka and Anichebe to long term injuries, and we still reached the Cup Final and finished fifth.

Absolutely gobsmacked by some of the twits wanting him out already. I’m by no means sold on him yet and the likelyhood of him being the answer is slim.

*its the first season he deserves time to bed in his players and style it was always going to be a transitional season.
* the squad is still heavily unbalanced and needs pruning.
* hasn’t blatantly disrespected the fans or the club like lard ass did
* the incoming transfers of Gomes, Bernard, Ricahrlison, Zouma and Digne have definitely added quality to the squad and three of them are Portuguese speakers and like the manager be kind of silly to unsettle them by jibbing off the manager.
* glimpses of better football quality is definitely up from last season deserves a chance to fully implement his style

There's some unbelievable revisionism about that game. It was a good performance and we looked confident which was a nice change, but they could genuinely have been out of sight in the first half, and then hit the post or bar even after we'd equalised.

I remember thinking at the time what a good side they looked, Ozil had not long signed for them and he absolute ran it.

Koeman was in charge when we beat Man City 4-0. Look how that turned out.
Why are you talking about Koeman? This thread is about the current manager. I’ve stated I’m not advocating change yet, just giving my opinion on EH in the midst of all this “Marco’s about to walk” nonsense. If people disagree, fine.

But as you’ve started quoting past results, try these below. They took a few hammerings along the way granted, but do we have a record that compares to this? When you add in last night’s result, I think probably not.

5/4/17: Liverpool 2 - 2 Bournemouth
4/12/16: Bournemouth 4 - 3 Liverpool
31/1/18: Chelsea 0 - 3 Bournemouth
5/12/15: Chelsea 0 - 1 Bournemouth
12/12/15: Bournemouth 2 - 1 Manchester Utd
14/1/18: Bournemouth 2 - 1 Arsenal
