Ah the melodrama.

Not even close to some of the worst Everton teams I’ve seen.

Go back 200 pages, you will see sending fuzzies to Marco, he wins his next five same fuzzies again.

Ultimately we are three points of a potentialEuropean spot at the mo.

No time to be crumbling.
Your very obviously on a wind up..

And for one second then I thought you was genuine

Nice one mate

I'm glad he's called out the players.

But, he needs to stop making other mistakes. Basic mistakes. Not changing the system. Not trying new tactics, etc.

How can you give someone getting performances like this 3 years?!

Pretty easy, don’t sack them.

It’s a personal belief I hold managers need time to build and embed a philosophey with players of their chooseing. I think you cant judge a managers body of work until a year and a half into a regime. Whether progress has been made or not.

In Silva’s case I look at context, is the Everton job am easy one, no way? The club has been a basket case for the best part of 18 months, a team built of the players of five different managers with very different philopsies and players lacking belief and condfidence. I look at what we now know are significant financial limits on his ability to create change. I also look at the amount of playing problems he inherited from other managers, 17 odd players on oan eating the wage bill.

Will the above be sorted out by changing the manger is the short term? No.

So why Silva, I’m a fan, I like his previous body of work, you will find posts from me about him when he was at Hull. I like how he tries to play on the front foot, the way an Everton team should always, I’ll back that always. I also like how he has competence against the CL teams, I think we’ve had that debate al,ready, results aside.

Do I want to see an Everton !Marco Silva team if he can work with Brands sorting out the inherited mess he has inherited in the short term, I do,I beleive he can build a team. I really do.

I beleive he can achieve in the long term, what everyone was getting fuzzy about on a good run, not so long ago, an Everton team that can play expansively compete and win, that was the narrative not so long ago, about him giving us back our identity. He can, it’s a long term job though.

That is all great in theory.

However his hands are very tied right now. And if he can’t get a tune out of these players, and is making the same mistakes over and over, how can he possibly see out 3 years?

That and he’s not a very good manager. As the past has proven.
