At the moment what we need, in my opinion, is for someone who can come in, put a structure in place, get the players hungry and fit and get in a winning habit by beating the teams we should be beating. Moyes would be good at bringing that stability. If he can not then push on, even despite the new resources, then we could get someone else in who could build on the foundations l. We were so close under Bobby, and if we had a better manager we would probably have kicked in and be in Spurs position.

But we didn’t.

We are simply never going to agree that bringing Moyes back is a good idea. To me, it's like the managerial equivalent of re-signing Rooney. Disaster written all over it.

Each to their own though.

The difference is, as a player you decline physically and lose your skills over time. In theory Moyes should be a better and wiser coach after his misadventures. Management is a mental discipline, where experience actually makes you better, if you have some ability and keep your hunger to succeed.

I could handle silva having the odd blip if we had seen some progress this year. The frustrating thing is our performances have gone backwards.

If silva goes then all the other options are gambles. We need someone to build an identity again - I imagine brands will have his own ideas - but looking around it’s hard to pinpoint an outstanding candidate... personally I like the look of what Eddie Howe has done at Bournemouth - can he translate that and progress at a bigger club? Debatable.

Years of mis management through the club are coming home to roost. We have ridiculous amounts of deadwood to ship out whilst also needing to progress quickly with new signings. It’s a tough job...
