2018/19 Oumar Niasse

Strange comments on here. Works harder than anyone and knows where the back of the net is. I guess because he doesn't fit in with the 50 passes going nowhere type of football people want, he's out the door.
It's not even 50 passes last time Oumar played his first two touches were straight to opponents. I love him but he's a player who can only play in a super direct team because he simply isn't technical enough to link up. Even playing in a system like what we have done away to United and the RS is too much for him. Again I'm really glad he will still be in the league because he's just a very fun player but I don't think he suits us now much less where we want to be.

Possibly

£2mil loan fee
£1.2mil saved wages
£10mil option to buy

As @Eggs wrote, I agree that the option to buy would probably be activated after a certain number of games/goals + them staying up.

We should all be getting behind him at Cardiff now.

Of course we gotta get behind Oumar. Any player we send on loan can help those team take points off teams we are competing with.

Would've liked to just sell him, but since they supposedly had a hard bid of 8M or whatever, gotta assume this is financially a BETTER deal. Option to buy if he keeps them up or scores a few goals, etc., you'd think somehow this arrangement will be better than the hard offer.

I bet there is no obligation to buy based on appearances or the like. He'll be back at Finch Farm in 5 months and, again, we'll be struggling to offload him.

The thing is I don't think we really are struggling to offload him. I don't think we were totally sure about selling him in the summer so we kept him on just like Dowell and Holgate were kept on. Now it is clear that he isn't needed so he's been sent packing. If he can knock a couple in it'll be easier come summer but either way it shouldn't be hard to find someone.

So if he’s off, I assume we’re getting a replacement.
I can say with no fear of contradiction.....

Look again at Oumars first goal against Bournemouth. Superb link up play and started by Oumar winning the ball on the touchline ,instigating the passes and moving beautifully into the penalty area to score. And yet you say he isn't technical enough to link up.

Hope so! I like him (his attitude really) a lot, but he's nowhere near Premiership standard and must be shipped out - maximum 10m.

Schneiderlin (7m), McCarthy (7m), Tosun (13m), Mirallas (free), Martina (out of contract hopefully?), Besic (5m), Stekelenberg (free), Bolasie (7m), all the young centre halves (Galloway, Browning, Pennington - all free) should also be moved on ASAP as a matter of urgency.

From those above I estimate that's around 20m a year saved in wages.

Baines should be given a one-year extension, Jagielka should absolutely NOT be offered an extension, and hopefully Williams already has all his belongings and never needs to come back to Finch Farm again.

Jagielka and Williams going makes that around 26m a season saved in wages.

I make that 14 players gone, and really need about 3 replacements to cover all of them: a better backup keeper (Stek), a new striker (Tosun) and a centrre back if Holgate is also sold along with Jagielka going.

A modest backup keeper, a squad striker and a backup centre half would probably cost us about 8m a year in wages. So wages down 18m taking into account all of the above.

I'd hope to see Vlasic brought back into the fold, but no surprises if he doesn't want to stay.

14, possibly 15 out, 3 in - and 3 squad players at that.

We obviously need a top quality striker brought in, as well as making the moves for Zouma (20m) and Gomes (25m) permanent, plus arguably another centre midfielder - both of these funded completely by selling all of the above players. Wages saved, and the money left over would cover a striker too, and we'd be drastically down on wages to boot.

Fallen for the old trick again
There about to sign emiliani sala for 18m, no chance they will sign niasse aswell unless he is at least a 1 in 2 striker.

They are basically using niasse until the end of the season when he comes back along with bolasie, besic ramirez and co.
By which time his stock had fallen further and could end up doing a Ashley " your get no fee for me" williams

Hello again, optimism still high at the club?

I have no idea what to expect from niasse as a Cardiff fan. Is he good enough for a relegation battle?

Like so many have said his work rate and smile are infectious, he’ll almost certainly score but you’ll be scratching your head wondering how it happened until you watch a replay and see it bounce off his knee into the net . you’ll watch him in the next couple of games and form the opinion he’s never played professional football in his life before and from nowhere he’ll break , run half the length of the pitch for you to score .

I personally think he’s a dreadful football player but you can’t hate him and somehow he ends up scoring goals , it’s something I couldn’t explain if o tried .
