It was one game, but I wasn't blown away by him this weekend.

FYI - for those of us Yanks (whatever the heck that means) or people who permanently reside in America, we have access to more games than we could ever watch with just a basic cable package. So if anything it sounds like it might be easier to watch Espanyol over here than it is in England. Could be wrong.

....it really does depend on the system Silva/Brands wants to play. Unlike you, I haven’t watched the lad but his size surprised me on YouTube clips. His goalscoring record is very decent wherever he’s gone.

Easier? They're an hour ahead of England so much simpler considering the times Spanish teams play.

Well for example the jarg scouts on here, for which I count myself as 1, whenever we are linked to a player, off we go to wiki, whoscored, then off to youtube and we make our mind up based on crap like that.

With this Silva can say "Marcel I want a youngish DM, good on the ball, with an extensive passing range, I want him to left footed and I want him to drive the ball forward" so Marcel can enter all that into his little widget, find all the player stats, look at vids and determine which players are worth scouting in the flesh. Or he can watch a game in the flesh and somebody else catches his eye. When he gets home he can find out everything about that player within minutes.

I mean we look at 1 or 2 players every few days, people like Brands will be looking at 000s of players every single day.

That explains the steep pricing. I wonder if they include the checkbox option for “Ability to handle crowd booing”.

The 90mins individual video is very helpful for amateur like me tho. As we can clearly observe the characteristics of his control, passing preference, movement etc. I tend to search for such videos in YouTube but its rare. Watching a full match video and full individual video provides a completely different perspective

Well its not just a stats thing, you can watch vids of the players and of course set parameters to determine range and direction of passes.

Some stats are fairly useless, but some speak volumes.

I'm not here to act like guys Rabiot and Verratti aren't very good players but those ball progression things are skewed by the pressure and sheer terror caused to teams by Mbappe and Neymar. Which I guess I hadn't realized fully but man do those guys open up space.

I think the league's they play in has a big influence. No surprise that the players in the French league seem to be statistically the best. The stats would be interesting compared against champions league for instance.

Yeah im sure they notice these things once they go to watch live.

PSG play a direct style in the CL too but I agree it would probably be less of a gap.

I mean in terms of access. I was under the impression it was expensive to have access to Ligue 1 or Serie A or the Turkish League, etc. That's all.

Timing is actually awesome for us in the states. Get up, get my cup of coffee, and BAM it's on at least during the weekends. DVRs are lovely as well.
