Most of us? Really? I mean I’m sure I’d heard his name but I couldn’t have told you anything about brands before he came here, and if more than 2/3 people in here could have I’d be surprised.

He seems to be good at his job though, which is the main thing.

He's better than our current strikers. Any transfer will likely fall into the financial reality that Brands has outlined regarding fee and especially wages.

He doesn't have to be better than Lukaku, he just needs to be better than Niasse, Tosun and Calvert-Lewin.

Perhaps the staff could convince him that the “booing” he’s hearing is instead a whimsically endearing play on “Come on You Blues!” Failing that, we could have Jags tell him “They’re blueing” you mate. It would be the greatest finesse in recent club memory.

Regarding the lad himself, goals win points. We don’t score enough. Sell/loan Niasse and Tosun and let DCL have one more pre-season to try and grow into whatever might be there along side this lad for what should ultimately be the backup CF position.

Bats, Batman , Batsman , Michy Bats , Mickey Batman or any other play on his name you care to mention
Making do with someone because he’s better than what we have does not seem to be Brands style
IMO his agent knows we need a striker and starts the rumour
Palace , Huddersfield Etc need a striker why aren’t they been mentioned , because they haven’t got 14-20 m to spend.
I doubt Chelsea would take such a big loss on a player either

Zouma probably is good enough to play for Chelsea , however Chelsea are of a different opinion
They will just spend big on a CB or if they have any sense they will give Ampadu a run in the side next season

Maybe I phrased it wrong. I have no idea if Brands is interested in signing Batshuayi. However, he hasn't pursued him. It's pretty obvious from the press stories that he is being offered to clubs.

Same as most of the players we’ve signed then. Zouma and Gomes definitely in that bracket, and Bernard by his agent rather than his club.
