That's part of the problem right there.
But there's no other way to get his head down from the skies again than benching him. Unless we sell of course.

I have only heard one person say his head is in the skies or arrogant then people followed suit and it has stuck since. Doesn't mean it's true. My perception he isn't arrogant or head in the skies. Just a decent keeper and better than we have had for a good few seasons

No it just means we perceive things differently, and that's not bad at all. And I have been in the "keep him at all cost camp". But all I see now is that there's no consequence to anything he does. if the stats are right he's conceding way too many goals for us to be able to compete on the top top level.

His performances at Sunderland were massively overhyped by the media. It looks all pretty when you're 3-0 down and you manage to keep it at 3 rather than 5 or 6. But his general ability as an all round goalkeeper was not assessed. His positional sense when we won 3-0 up there was nothing short of a disaster. I picked up on it, and if i remember correctly so did @davek. But people were more concerned with the heroics of him throwing himself
I think Pickford is a good goalkeeper but nothing exceptional, he doesn’t command his six yard area, stays on his line too much for corners and centres, tends to be very excitable, needs to relax more. I don’t think there has ever been a really top flight outstanding LEFT handed goalkeeper, doubt very much Jordan will become one.

The conceding of goals is not only the fault of a keeper. Depends what the defence is like. A reason Pickford shouts at the defenders is because if he sees our players failing to cut out shots and failing to mark players better he will let them know.

It shows a complete disrespect for his team mates. Imagine how scummy it would have been if one our defenders had given him a rollicking at Anfield.

I of course agree with that it's not only the keepers fault. But the stats are not in his favour.

No it does not. It is a necessity to keep players on there toes. Goalies have always shouted at the defence. Same with good strikers past and present....if they do not get the correct service they have a go. It is football afterall and that is what happens and is needed.

A foot away from him?! Any GK playing for the Dog & Duck would have stuck a leg out at that...not this divvy though. Diving for it with his hands and losing the time it takes to do that to allow the ball past him.

It's basic stuff.
It was right in the opposite corner, you will see that type of goal scored hundreds of times a season by decent strikers. When we had decent strikers that's what they used to do. If the keeper starts guessing and diving before the shot is hit, he's going to look stupid all the other times when the striker doesn't hit the shot well enough. That goal was Keane's fault, nobody elses (even though Walcott's header was bizarre, but all Keane had to do was kill it on his thigh, or if he didn't know what was around him, hoof it)

It's scummy to give players constant rollickings. None of our outfield players have been giving it large to him after his errors, so what gives him the right to act like that?

He's put himself up on a pedestal where he thinks he's untouchable. He was so keen to give someone a rollicking after he conceded yesterday that he gave it to the first player he could find. That was Kenny. Not even involved in the goal.

I've genuinely had enough of his pathetic antics.

Agreed. Acts the big man and the hype is quickly fading. I would sell... make money and get a keeper with real presence and concentration.
