This is a joke, right?

Take a look at how much they've spent in the last 4 seasons alone - they've spent £450M on players.

Half a billion gone into getting this team together.

"Steals" my arse.

All the top clubs have spent that much bar Spurs... United, City, Chelsea & arsenal have all spent fortunes... We've spent alot too... Liverpools net spend isn't massive, they've spent the sterling, Suarez and coutinho money wisely, simple as....

BTW, Robertson for 10m, and Salah for 34m definitely are Steals... Can't understand anyone arguing they aren't...

Exceptionally dubious characters to say the least.
Also nowhere near to the level of wealth to which you allude to.
I think we dodged a bullet there, personally.
Mostly a smokescreen. As was another local group "negotiating" with Kenwright.
We were ready for the takeover at that point and interest was bubbling up.

Moshiri got the deal done.

Howver, my point stands: he doesn't have the ability to shift the dial for Everton. What was claimed for him at the time of takeover wasn't true.

The only way we will progress is once funding on the stadium is sorted Usmanov decides to come aboard - thats when fans can get excited. Until then its more of the Kenwright & Moshiri sideshow.

Yes, and we'd say that any of them had bought the title too...so why doesn't it apply to Liverpool?!

What an odd reply.

Half a billion spent by them in just the last 4 seasons alone and you're talking up the odd bargain here and there as if it proves they've done it on a showstring + ingenuity.

No. Just no.

More teams are stronger in my opinion

Well let's have a look...

Arsenal... Showed how poor they were again yesterday, no defence, and no real quality in midfield....

Man Utd.... Still the poorest United squad in my lifetime, the new manager has a lot of work to do there...

Chelsea... Not once been in the title race again this season.... Will likely lose Hazard in the summer... Thought we matched them at Stamford bridge this season..

Spurs... Have had a great 3 years, but can they keep Pochettino, Kane & eriksen in the summer?...

Not saying we can get Top 4 next season, but I think we a few good additions in the summer (striker, right winger, right full back, and Gomez) we should be able to atleast challenge them... While other teams are rebuilding there always a chance of sneeking in there, Moyes showed its not impossible

Interest ‘bubbling up’? What a vacuous and meaningless phrase.
In what way was interest ‘bubbling up’? What evidence do you have ? Who else declared an interest?
Even any rumours where noticeable by their absence.
There is absolutely little or no evidence of any interested parties attempting to purchase our club ,not only at the point we are discussing but at any point in the preceding 2 decades, other than the ones already mentioned.
Certainly no City style super rich saviours either.
You cannot base an argument on baseless supposition.

I'm not defending Liverpool, and never said anything about a shoestring budget.... Van Djik and Allison were big money signings, but the rest weren't particularly....Klopp has been given time to build a team.... They won't win the league because they bought it (I don't agree with that considering all the other clubs have spent the same or more), Klopp has simply done better in the transfer market than his competitors....and that's where Marco Silva has to excel, we need to find out own Salah, or get a Van Djik before Southampton do...
After that we need something Liverpool are getting alot of, and that's luck...

You could give Silva Messi and Ronaldo and he'll still have no plan B in games, dither on subs and have a paper defence.

Same way Belgium will never achieve under Roberto

Why Moyes never achieved at Utd

etc.

I'm still reading this crazy statement here: "Half a billion quid in the last four seasons cant be described as buying the title". Never mind comparing that with what the other financial elite clubs do...they ALL cant win it every season can they?

Let me ask you this: if Liverpool spend £300M 0r £350M in the last 4 seasons do they win the title this year (if thats what they do)?

It takes on average 1.3BN to win the Title dave.

Of course Leicester are the 1 exception.

Liverpool have so far spent 1bn to win the Title.

Exactly. They bought it like any of the other super rich clubs have bought it. They crashed through the billion quid barrier...an exclusive club that have won the title for nearly all the seasons in the last decade and a half...apart from them...becuase they've wasted their investment until now...probably.

Stop being a child... Why wouldn't they spend 300m?!..should the owners just have pocketed the Suarez and coutinho money?... That's football today, that's the money all the top clubs have...thats where the markets at... Of course if they don't spend 300-350m they don't win the league, that's not my point... But they are a big club, but have spent less money better than United, Arsenal and Chelsea have, and that's why they're the ones beating City now.....
spending money doesn't guarantee anything, we gave koeman money and he wasted it...

For me Liverpool have only signed 2 players that were outside our current finances, and that's Van djik and Allison, every other player Klopp has signed has been well inside our budget... Salah, firmino, Mane, Robertson, Keita, Milner were all very good deals..
