This club is a joke

Premier League Everton are a joke, we all know this. I don't think our league has a lot of quality in particular outside of the top 6, we are more and more just making up the numbers. Football used to run in cycles but huge amounts of money have done away with that, we really are in a position where you really get what you can afford and we are way down the pecking order for top class talent.

Under these circumstances you need your Club to be united on and off the pitch, this seems to have been lost on the we want it now brigade, there are sections of the fan base who simply cannot grasp the concept that we are not currently dining at the top table, rather an awkward uncle who demands to be nearer the Bride and Groom but doesn't really deserve a place there, he just complains more.

I went off on a tangent there,i guess the crux of it is like Leicester, like Greece, like Denmark we need to be greater than the sum of our parts because although we are spending money, we are still under spending when we need to catch the 6 up because they can not only afford better players but they can attract them, we struggle on that front, we are where we are stuck slap bang in the middle of the Premier League, no chance of a win, can't se a Leicester happening for another decade or so and prob no chance of going down.

It's getting harder and harder to get excited following football because we just exist as it stands, we never win scoring 6 but we like to concede 6 just to let us know where we are on the spectrum.

Not going to change all of this in 1 2 or 3 years, we as a fan base now must get behind the team because otherwise whats the point.

At some point we as a fanbase are going to finally understand that endlessly demanding that our managers be sacked and our players sold on after a bad run of results will never change anything. FFS how many managers have to be sacked and teams demolished before we look a little bit deeper then the surface? It's the powers that be at Goodison who don't have any standards, have demolished the club's identity and allowed the hideous "Everton that" myth to become a seriously used and genuinely believed excuse for failure. How can anyone honestly expect us to be anything other then trash, who more often then not surrender before kick off in games with attitudes like that coming from the top?

"Moyes that".

Other codes have solved the 'money buys titles' problem with varying success. I don't necessarily believe that a Draft is the solution for Football because the codes I'm thinking of have a generally static league. No Divisions & relegations to worry about. FIFA need to address this as it's a global Football issue, but I doubt we'll ever see it happen.

We are standing still. Others are racing past us.
What do you expect.

Moshiri since he's arrived has sacked 3 managers and is on his 4th manager with Silva and also on his 2nd DoF.

What team progresses with such an overhaul of chopping and changing, mid table is about par after all those changes.

Top 4 is a pipe dream right now, Turnover wise right now it's at £189 million, the top 6 clubs minus Spurs have turnovers £450-£650 million range and have worldwide fan bases and massive commercial appeal.

It's not at playing level that needs catching up it's off the pitch as well and every year the gap is getting bigger financially.

No wonder the Super League is being mooted, those clubs i mentioned are getting to big for the PL and will jump ship to the Super League when they think they have outgrown the PL and have the possibility of making even more money.

I suppose you reds, would like to think, that mid table is our level.

The way this club has nose dived since the foundation of the Premier League is nothing short of an embarrassment to the powers that be. We have gone from winning league titles to losing away at Brighton and being in 10th place with the only reaction for people to shrug their shoulders.

In modern times the appointment of Martinez was a catastrophic failure. Let´s not forget the year he was appointed we actually finished ABOVE Liverpool and only 9 only points behind Spurs. We are now worlds apart from these clubs. It´s all down to mismanagement on a monumental scale and the fan base isn´t anywhere near as angry as it should be.

It's all about culture.

The culture at Everton doesn't demand success. The culture is one where mediocrity is hailed as progress and actual progress is hailed as success in itself.

It's a very comfy gig being an everton footballer these days. Huge money with no pressure to succeed. It's a complete mess and no one seems to want to change it.
Spot on, standards

The talent Silva has to pick from versus dross like Brighton, Newcastle and co he should be winning at a canter.

Not good enough.

Dropping Gylfi was strange.

I wouldn’t clap that shambles off.

We can’t really do much about it though can we? Martinez seemed fine after 1 season, our fans gave him the benefit of the doubt season 2 and then made it clear he had to go season 3. Koeman seemed a decent appointment at the time, so did Walsh. It’s easy to criticise with hindsight but the club was making what it thought were the best decisions at the time.
