I have got to agree with you about Pickford maybe he has started to believe his own hype and needs to get back to basics.
At the moment he reminds me of an early Howard , a good shot stopper but lacking elsewhere.
I said last season that the lad showed unmistakable signs of arrogance for someone who'd achieved the square root of f.a.

Get shut and get a good GK in. This lad I would not bat an eyelid at if he was playing for West Brom in the Championship.

C'mon Dave you know very well that January isn't the best time to be recruiting quality Strikers. Why not make that judgement at the end of the summer window.
...because he's been told VERY EARLY this first half of the season that he had a job to do in January and he has, apparently, good contacts. I EXPECT a DoF of any worth to get that signing secured in the time period he has had...and he's in that position of needing one because he thought what we had in the summer was acceptable.

His problem - he needs to solve it.

Bring whoever you want in, i don't think it will make that much difference, the whole of our front 4 can't finish properly when in front of goal. Bringing in a striker is not going to solve that imo.
A striker who can regularly score breeds confidence in other players to get on the score sheet.

Did you give him stick for the first goal when he did the opposite of stay rooted to the line?
The angle was insane that he races out at. He was wrong twice for that goal: first with the judgement to pass rather than launch; then with his suicidal gallop out to Jesus.

You listening to Craig Bellamy's analysis there, Pickford played that pass all game and mina usually dispensed of it okay, but that one time the clearance was poor.

But hey, you wanted us to lose, so why aren't your praising Pickford if you believe it's his fault? You can't let the Derby mistake go because you hate the RS more than you like Everton

The thing is, all our away games have been tough, especially recently. They've all been against the top 6 bar spurs and then the 3 next best teams this season in wolves, Bournemouth and Leicester. So this has stopped us being able to put a run of wins together. Our second half of the season is going to be a lot easier on paper with the team more gelled. We've been better away this season so I can see us stringing a good run together which will see us pull away from all those teams.

But you have to play every team twice, so in the second half of the season we’re going to have to play the top 6, and all the other teams you mentioned again.

You could say after Spurs we’ve got a run of winnable games to put a run together, but I wouldn’t bet on it.

I dont need that divvy to tell me our GK was at fault.

And that goal wasn't the worst of it. Diving under the headed ball straight at him by Jesus for their second was appalling. The lad's a strutting fraud. But it's not entirley of his making as he's had fools heaping praise on him when he is quite obviously nowhere near the quality any team with pretensions to break into the top 5/6.

We're more than capable of beating them at home though, away we got no chance, but we've matched them all so far, just tiny margins.
