Hibbert and Osman agree new contracts.

Yay, now other players don't have to worry about criticism as there will stay be Hibbert and Osman to blame for every loss.

Good news really. They're valuable squad members, as they proved today, and unlike some people they won't bitch about being on the bench. They love the club, and will do their bit when called upon.

Of course it's good news. They're forever Everton, and the fact that they're staying is just further cementing their place as part of the squad that have their heads in the right place. I wonder if Hibbert has a goalscoring bonus clause in his.

One might argue they're expendable in a first XI point of view - one might always want better players and strive for world-class talent in every position, sure! But who has that? Every team, even goddamn manchester city have players of their mold (except they don't get much playing time :P)

Ossie and Hibbo are prime examples of players needed in our club for the everyday goings-on, tethering the team to where they come from, being a presence both in training and of the field, turning up with their best game at every oppurtunity given, and not least being a perfect example of our class academy producing top-tier premier league regular starters from kids who come up locally with a dream of playing for Everton. Anyone who puts down a person like that is shaming the pride of our club.

Bollocks the only reason they have agreed new contracts is no one else wants them and we are stuck with them until they pop their clogs. Need to get shut end of.

Makes perfect sense keeping them on. 3 right backs at the club, ones a versatile player that will be used in the middle of the park (Neville), one is finding a home on the wing (Coleman) and the other is a solid, reliable full back, gives 100% and loves playing for Everton and doesn't chase wages Tony Hibbert. Whats the price of decent replacement? £6-£8m minimum i'd imagine. Same goes for Osman if you wan't a better player an improvement on what we have then spend £10-£15m. Osman's a decent, underated grafter that doesn't moan about being played out of position week in week out. Remember the goal in the UEFA cup (Larissa?) thats what he's capable of. People need to be realistic about money, wanting to get rid of players because they think they see better at City, Spurs or Villa. Passion and drive gets us through games and these two players offer it in spades. Congratulations fellas.
