Messi "best player of all time"

Another thing Messi has above Ronaldo, he doesn’t make it all about him, Messi is a team player, plays with a smile on his face, Ronaldo gets a titty lip if someone doesn’t pass to him, starts throwing his arms in the air, it’s always “ me, me, me”

Ronaldo proved it in one of the Madrid games, ball gets crossed in, lad makes a run to the front post in front of Ronaldo and side foots it in, cue Ronaldo going on one because the lad never left it for him to tap in, makes a gesture with his arms, doesn’t celebrate with the lad, just walks back to the centre circle fuming. Also saw him kicking off at Bale for having the audacity to have a shot on goal that hit the cross bar, as I say “me, me, me”

the world cup said otherwise to me, ronaldo fights for the cause waaaaaay more than messi is willing to as soon as he isn't playing for the best team. There is a press driven perception issue that makes it look the other way round.

I prefer Messi any day, but there's no denying the work Ronaldo has put in to get where he is.
I think both SAF and Ferdinand said he's the hardest worker they've ever seen in training, can't fault that.

It was a few years ago now, but I remember that Balague saying on the Spanish footy show that there was loads of unrest in the changies at Madrid because of Ronaldo's attitude, and the way he spoke to the younger players.

Absolutely fantastic player, and we'll all have an opinion on who is the best, IMO though, Ronaldo is too much of a massive Prima donna.

you lost me at the bolded point I'm afraid mate, hardly a neutral and about as ITK as the esk

It's impossible to compare players from different eras though in general I think todays elite players have better players around them and that has applied to both Messi and Ronaldo.

I find it hard to look past Maradona still - maybe its nostalgia somewhat but I haven't seen before or since a better set of performances from a player on the biggest stage than his at Mexico '86. He virtually single-handedly won that tournament for Argentina. On a 1-11 basis, that side had a lot of yard dogs and wouldn't have come anywhere near to winning it without him.

People hold the World Cup against Messi - fact is, Champions League is a higher level. And international football is a shadow of what it was in terms of importance. Messi is by far the best player in what is arguably the best team ever.

Yeah but Maradonna's a cheat. I don't care what skills or achievements a player has, if they cheat they're off the list.
