We need to get those signings in on 2nd/3rd of Jan,not deadline day.We need our business done early doors.Let the new signings bed in and get in to the vibe around the dressing room.So by the end of the window our campaign is 4 weeks down the line.
Do you really think that is going to be that easy to sign the quality of players we are looking for in JANUARY?????

This was probably the toughest fixture of the season for me. I think City will be a tad vulnerable to our pressure and Liverpool haven’t been the same this year. If we play our cards right and our players rise up to the occasion, we might come away with a result against one of them.

He’s breathed belief and fun back into the squad, and Brands has brought in good characters. Silva nd Brands are building something we’ve needed and wanted for a good while...a competitive team, a quality squad and a great bond with the supporters.

Early days but really starting to warm even more to silva seems to be very composed but also I think he has a ruthless side to him that is what every top manager /team needs .TBH I watch the match but get to involed to see in play situations like tactics and the like unless it's really obvious but he seems to to be able to adapt to things happening before and in the game I know that's a mangers job but there's a lot of mangers out there that can't do that including the last 2 clowns we have had.Early signs are good Make us proud Marco

Thought his sides didn't know how to defend :coffee:
I admit to being a touch concerned that we may prove to be a bit gung ho against the better sides. Fully expected us to get a couple of hammerings this season, and was prepared to take this provided we saw a big improvement in results and performance overall.

But today's game has proved me wrong. I thought he got his tactics pretty much spot on away to Chelsea, and make no mistake, they had their A team out today. Not one player missing. In fact I think we were unlucky in so far as they should have been down to 10 men in the first half, which would have allowed us to be a bit more positive as they would have taken off one of their forwards.

We matched them. Not many sides will do that at the Bridge.

After the shambles of the past few seasons we are back on track, only this time I think we can go even further.

Am I the only one who thinks a 3-5-2 would really suit us against the top 6 sides?

We have two attacking full backs who can sit back when required but also get forward. The 3 midfielders of Gomes, Gana and Sig, 3 monster Centre Halves in Keane, Mina and Zouma who will be big dangers from set pieces but also help us out defending from them, and Richarlison will get some help up top.

Pickford

Keane Mina Zouma

Coleman Gana Gomes Digne

Siggurdsson

Walcott Richarlison

I even think it could suit us as a default style going forward.
There may be games when a 3 at the back formation may suit us tactically. But before we ever use it again competitively, the players need to have become totally comfortable with it in training. Allardyce used it numerous times just to get plenty of defensive players on the pitch, but we were all over the place because nobody was used to the system.

He actually appears to grasp what is going on during a game, his subs by and large are the correct calls,i for one wouldn't have brought jags on today, but he was spot on.
