I think he was once asked about Barca, and said he'd ride his bike there if they ever came knocking. Hardly him whoring himself out now. Every player wants to play for Barca.
I think he just wants to do the best he can wherever he is, and right now he's not getting a look in. He's a CB, let's be honest, and he's not playing at CB. He's been crap in midfield, but then he hasn't had many minutes and he had a late exit in the WC obviously.
I've still got faith in him. He's a top player, and I think some people are a bit too touchy. Don't get me wrong, if a player doesn't want to play for us then I'd want them fired out of a cannon/sold/bumraped ASAP, but I don't think that's the case with Johnny. Although I'd still bumrape him.

He said the same thing the other day about being linked to Wolfsburg etc. I think he's being honest. It's flattering, that big clubs and clubs who think they're big/only want players who are highly rated, want him.
He should probably keep his trap shut, of course, but it's probably more a case of being a bit silly than being a disloyal asshat.

Sorry mate but thats your fault. You choose to love a complete stranger just because he played for the club you support. If he then turns out to be a complete twonk (not that he has) then its all your fault if you feel dissapointed.
Got any proof of that mate? I expect you do considering how anti dodgy sourced football links you are. And even if its true why should he share the quite frankly riciulous hatred of another club by some fans of the club he plays for. I'd be flatered if a club who could buy anyone in the world was interested in me. Doesn't mean Everton are [Poor language removed] and city are the bestest club in the world.
Is this backlash all because he said that 2 other clubs are big clubs? Is it because he is quite rightly fed up that being a world cup finalist at centre back he is stuck on the bench or in midfield? Maybe but as he has said absolutely nothing of the sort in public who knows?
Or maybe its because he was promised when he signed he would be in a team challenging for a Champions League spot. Instead that team has scraped an 8th place finish and is currently sat 17th with 1 win in 7 games. Who knows.
But saying you wouldn't mind playing for one of the best club sides of all time is hardly a heinous crime.
Maybe if he came out and falsely kissed the badge like Fellaini did people would love him and wouldn't try and twist things to suit their agenda just because they are worried he might leave at some point.
And i hate to say this but turning on one of our players over a perfectly reasonable comment that may well of got lost in translation is kopite behavior.
