I like theo but also want to see more of lookman. Maybe move theo up top, rich on the left and lookman on right. Yes i like bernard also but richarlison is better on the lw, theo can play as a forward and give lookman a run of games see what happens.

I like Theo but Lookman looked hungry when he came on vs Palace. Can only be a good thing for us, happy with either of them in the side as long as they’re playing well. Walcott should’ve buried that chance all day every day like.

I think he is ace, has given us a new dimension imo. One game in four he maybe off the pace, wingers usually return about 2 in two though yeh??? As we improve imo so will he. Thought a lot of Lennon, work rate, emotionally though. Everton fan's that yeh!!! This lad is a magnificent upgrade tbf.

I want a quick attacking, threatening front line, he won't disappoint overall...........
Very happy to have in my team.....

I think Walcott is the type of player who will turn up to big games where there is more space. Against team that pack their defence maybe Lookman should start as he is more about beating players.

Walcott doesn't seem to me to be as fast as he was at Arsenal. He's rarely taking the ball past his man. I think his place in the team is vulnerable.
He hasn't done that in about five years, if not more.
It's not his game anymore.
Just like how Lookman's game isn't to sprint in behind like Walcott does.

What is Walcott's game?
He has a good right foot shot.
He has pace - but not nearly as much as people are making out. Fitness maintained, speed on the wane.

What isn't his game? - Defence, holding onto the ball, beating his man, creating

Overall his contribution is not up to what's needed.
He very rarely adds to the team play, relying on everyone else so he can play his game.
And even though he is putting in more effort as the season goes on, he hasn't got the skills or awareness to defend up and down the wing.
If teams sit back or he comes up against a good LB, LCM, he offers very little.

Its frustrating that he hasn't done enough with all the space that has been created for him by the Digne, Rico, Bernard.
More frustrating that if we had winger who was able to hold onto the ball and create, the left wing would have a lot more chances as well.

With Gomes now in, you'll see more passes into space for him to run onto, so more shot on goal, more crosses.
So far, 2 goals, 2 assists from 9 PLs. That should increase.

But imo it doesn't make up for what he doesn't give the team.
Simply put, other players would have more goals and more assists if he had a more rounded game.
One more example would be the lack of ability to use Kenny/Coleman to put them into space; let alone the covering role he puts himself in by doing this.

There's a jong lad, Arnaut Dajuma Groeneveld coming through the ranks. 21yrs old. Played in Eredivisie, now at Club Brugge.
Just made his debut for Oranje vs Belgium and scored.
Recently scored a cracker against Atletico Madrid.
He'd burn Walcott for pace and no comparison on the ball.
Valued at 4m on Transfermarket.

The type of signings where poster boys playing at elite level, use the Blues as a stepping stone to stay in elite competition before taking the cash in the MLS, shouldn't happen. As an agreed back up yes.
Would much rather see Lookman and the likes of Dajuma fight it out for a place.
Or maybe one has got the position and a Walcott type as back up, coming on like he did in the League game against the Saints.

Walcott is a good player, my problem with him is that I think he is very basic. He will do for now and is a good premier league winger, however I feel Lookman in the long term (if he develops) can be a better player.

Have another bong you flamin' Galah

he has pace, people always say pace is massive in this league, because of this he is a constant threat even when not playing well, he keeps defenders occupied. He can score his fair share too but does miss a fair few. I like him, definitely has something to offer us going forward and it's a bit strange he can't get in the England squad.

First few points.

He's actually very adept at holding onto possession. It goes unnoticed but when he does have the ball he rarely loses it.

His game is about off-the-ball movement, getting in behind. He is quick, very quick - the Bournemouth goal showed that - without the ball at his feet.

Even on Sunday, there were a few times where he was wide open on the edge of the area, but the pass into him was just poor/underhit.

His goal tally should be better and easily could be - he's had the chances.

And how can you say for certain that they would have more goals/assists?

Walcott is a player that would get into every side outside of the top six. The fact that we're now in a position where we can think about rotating him is brilliant.

People need to stop acting like it isn't a squad game.

Some games will suit Walcott more than Lookman, and I think United away on Sunday will be a prime example of that.

Some games, Lookman or Bernard will be better suited than Walcott, probably Newcastle at home will be a prime example of that.

He's 29, not 33. He's showing no signs of slowing down. He's always a threat hence teams doubling up on him - like Palace did on Sunday. He got better as the game became more stretched.

I think that's purely an age thing, mate.

Southgate is set on having a young squad and fair play to him for that.

Walcott is good. Yes he has missed a few chances, but so has every player to have played football. If lookman starting to push through and is getting his head down, hopefully that will have a positive impact on theo. He tracks back, he holds the ball well and the amount of times he has been in space or running through and the pass to him has been dreadful isn’t helping him. (I can think of at least tosun, Richarlison, Bernard and Coleman who have played poor passes or not even made the pass when he would have been clear on goal).

Different type of player to Richarlison and Bernard and lookman so I don’t expect the same returns from him as then.
