If you'd showed me that a year ago I'd have been buzzing. Would also have been wondering who that tall bloke at the back was
The transformation in the squad is quite remarkable , the last two windows have transformed the squad. If somehow that squad picture could have been shown to me just twelve months ago I would not have had a clue who a lot of those players were.

Echo 'exclusive' prior to tomorrow's game.

Marco Silva knows that Everton's home form needs to improve - and has called on supporters to help make Goodison Park a fortress once more.

The Blues have won two of their four Premier League matches at home so far this term, with victories over Southampton and Fulham producing long periods of good play.

However, a disappointing draw to Huddersfield was followed by a dreadful defeat to West Ham either side of the international break in September.

Everton were finally awarded for their strong away displays so far this term with a 2-1 win over Leicester City at the King Power Stadium earlier this month - their first victory on the road of 2018/19.

Arguably the Blues have looked better away from home than at Goodison Park so far this season, but Silvawas keen to highlight the strong display showed by his side against the Saints earlier this term.

"I agree but if I remember our first match at home this season was a good performance as well," Silva told the ECHO when asked if home form could be improved.

"Against Southampton our first half was really good, we achieved two goals and had chances to score more as well. We were in control of every moment of the match."

Silva admitted that performances were not good enough in subsequent home matches against Huddersfield and West Ham - saying that it was normal for the players' confidence to be affected by those displays.

However, the boss also called upon poor performances last term as a factor.

Throughout the majority of last term the mood around Goodison Park was poor thanks to a string of dreadful performances, and that in turn had a factor on the side.

But Silva knows that he is here to change that attitude and bring the good times back to L4, with the backing of the home support.

The manager added: "After we didn't achieve good results in two matches at home OK it's normal that some lack of confidence comes into some players or in us as a team.

"We cannot erase everything that's happened last season as well. I'm here to change and to give them the way to go but sometimes the game is not easy.

"We have to show the conditions to do the same at home as away. In a different way, I know, because some of our opponents come here to play in a different manner as away because we are Everton and they respect us as a club.

"You have to find the right moments and the right way to win the match at home because for me it's clear you have to be stronger at home and to feel well when you're playing at Goodison.

"With the fans behind us every time and with them supporting our boys, making things difficult for our opponents will be better every time."

Everton have a favourable run of fixtures coming up at Goodison Park with Crystal Palace, Brighton, Cardiff City and Newcastle United the next sides to visit Merseyside.

We should have more points on board but that doesn't concern me that much. It is the transition of style that has me buzzing. Still going to be a few crap performances along the way but we are now on the track we want to be on. Do not remember a group of signings adding so much to the team in so short a period. Digne, Zouma, Richarlison and Bernard have all slotted in well and improved us. Mina and Gomes yet to come in also. We have a more upbeat Siggy and an ever dangerous Walcott. Walcott stuck out like a sore thumb last season as our best player and now he is just one of a few and that is how we have progressed. The team are still learning to play together and I am sure will only get better and a few more fruitful additions in January could see us step up to a new level. I am liking Silva because he is bringing the players together as a team rather than depending on one player to change our fortunes. I also think he is not afraid of making tough decisions when needed and will be tough and hard until he gets what he is aiming for. Unless we nosedive and start battling with relegation Silva needs a couple of years before we can judge him fairly. I am liking this Everton

All fans who go the match should read this.
Particularly th list of our next three home opponents! If we get behind them ( and in fairness that is getting much easier to do given the improvement in our style) then we should start stitching together an extended run of home victories! Really looking forward to todays match, and will be utterly buzzing if we also get a glimpse of Gomes and Mina :)

Don't disagree with any of this, but at the end of the day we're still conceding goals whenever we are under a period of sustained pressure, we're still losing leads, we're still not beating the better sides (albeit we've only played one of them - Arsenal - so far). If we win today, and so string together 3 consecutive wins, then I'll begin to believe that there is fundamental change underway.

Think what I am trying to say is we can see a change for the better. Better football, better attacking is just 2 changes from previous managers. He has changed the old guard at the back so a little time to gel is needed but signs are positive. I fully expect a striker in and another CM in January with Schnides going out and maybe Tosun. Small steps but positive ones in my eyes. Going to be difficult still to beat the better sides as they are just getting better and stronger and that is another reason I am impressed with Brands/Silvas signings thus far because it looks like they have an eye for good players and so far barring the injuries they have made a difference. Still a few meh players but Silva will not put up with them for too long.

I expect 3 points against a bottom half team at home. Silva did not make it right until 65 mins. His subs changed the games so fair play.

The manager earns his money today.

Let’s be honest to get 3 points today give me much more confidence on him. Phenomenal Sunday. To save a penalty and went on to win it with few minutes to go.

Give over you bore - everybody wanted Richarlison to start up top today.

Job well done. Sometimes you need to grind out results when you're not at your best.
