he deffo outstayed his welcome, absolute garbage he was.

theres a reason he went to a struggling club who got relegated and then even couldn't get a game for them in the lower division, he wasn't good enough

the night some fans clapped him for scoring past us made we wanna spew
Wow did that really happen? Redshite behaviour if it did...

If anything this shows how few real world class players that have passed through the club in the last 30 years.

Couple not mentioned:

Richard Dunn - proved to be a solid cb with premeir league quality, winning player of the year for villa and Man City on a number of occasions
Landon donavon - brief stint really made an impact

Agree with these:
Peter Beardsley - criminal that he was let go. Played his best football after us
Marco mazzarati
Graversen
Yak
Hutchinson

Although we prob had no control-
Kanchelskis
Rooney (1st time obviously)
Lescott
Stones
Lukaku

Yakubu was finished when he left us.

Had his usual 18 months, then couldn't be arsed.

Went to Blackburn and did the same.

Lukaku would have buggered off regardless. Frankly, I thought he'd leave after Bob got sacked.

I miss Lukaku. Even if he never did turn up against big teams (except Chelsea).

Alan Ball - act of criminality by Catterick
Alan Whittle - Had everything to be great bar consistency. Could have found it had Catterick handled him better.
Howard Kendall - still a great player when we let him go as part of the Latchford deal. Would have sooner let them choose 2 or 3 other players instead.
Joe Royle - never as mobile after his back injury but intelligent enough to compensate. Would have loved him to been giver a proper opportunity to strike up a partnership with Latchford.
Terry Darracott - might shock some to see him mentioned but was only 29 when we allowed him to join the exodus of British players to the USA. Just a few weeks later we had an injury crisis which saw the likes of Mark Higgins and Pat Heard playing at full-back and unsurprisingly, a team that went 19 games unbeaten from the start of the season, when Terry was still with us, fell away to finish 4th.
Peter Beardsley - Great skill and great work ethic - a manager's dream.
Lukaku - love him or loath him, to let a 20+ goals a season player go and not replace him was the height of stupidity and led to the deserved exits of Messrs Koeman and Walsh.
