But why? BMD is basically wasteland, at the other place there's more space and surely better transport links for things like concerts. Getting to the dock road would be a nightmare for someone who's not from the city going to watch a gig who hadn't been before.
Don't get me wrong I see the benefit of having the waterfront stadia but I don't see why the ground HAS to be in a desirable location. You wouldn't call Walton a "desirable" location yet Goodison Park is one of the most iconic stadiums in world football. Same too Boca Juniors ground. Same too barcelonas.
It's not the location that really matters, it's what it becomes.
Everton could build a new ground on a landfill site but as long as it was 'Everton' it would be iconic.
Do you really think this is architecture? It's a giant monstrosity with numerous flaws.Who designed Anfield's main stand?
Hahaha fair play
Bramley Moore is in an area which is about to be regenerated. It is also a location which is close to the city centre. Cities resemble wheels in the way transport systems generally radiate outward from a city centre hub. It follows that it is far easier for large numbers of people from disparate locations to travel to and from this hub than to peripheral areas which would only favour those who live closer to it.But why? It depends on the city, but regardless, the whole area will be developed to bring people into it and likely live around it. It'll be a desintation for even the casual tourist. Regardless, it's about the money. Will be be even MORE iconic on the waterfront? Yes. Unique and everything else, but what's MOST important is the revenue.Bramley Moore is in an area which is about to be regenerated. It is also a location which is close to the city centre. In general when people build major leisure venues , conference centres and theatres they do so in or as close to city centres as they can to maximise access.
City centres contain bars , restaurants, shops and theatres and the closer we can build to these facilities the more people will choose to use any prospective stadia for their own events thereby generating more money for our club.
It truly ain’t rocket science.

Fair play George... You still championing this 60k thing! Every morning for the last few years...I very much doubt that we’ll end up with a capacity smaller than 60,000. We need to be competing with the likes of Spurs and the RS in terms of match day revenue.
This is true but even with a capacity the same as Anfield I cant see us having a simliar match day revenue, they make a fortune from the tourist fans and we dont have them or the crap merch to sell to themI very much doubt that we’ll end up with a capacity smaller than 60,000. Why argue with a kopite , it’s pointlessBramley Moore is in an area which is about to be regenerated. It is also a location which is close to the city centre. How would you possibly know that?
You can't claim to be using hindsight about something that firstly you couldn't possibly be in a position to know, and secondly, something that clearly hasn't happenned yet. Or can you see the future or sonething?
To answe a few of these type questions I've got, I wonder if we have bitten off more tha we can chew when it comes to BMD.
CLEARLY it's a massively ambitious project. It going to be more difficult and expensive than any normal build as firstly...we'll... It's a dock. So even before preparitory works can be made the whole thing needs to be sealed off, emptied and built up again. That's before they even start on building the stadium. Then there's design issues with it being so close to the water and on reclaimed land. It couldn't just be the same as any other stadium, it would need to be reinforced. Then there's the actual design on the surrounding area, the road, restructuring etc.
Now it's a fact that we have struggled to get finance for it. It's been mentioned on here several times. The council money is also by no means certain.
So that's what I mean about stone bridge cross. It would be far far cheaper to build an even bigger stadia there than BMD because there aren't even half of the issues there that we face with the dock. As a result it would have been easier to get fiances for it and I think if we had chosen that location TWO YEARS AGO we would have seen progress on it by now.
So that's what I mean. Bitten off more than we could chew. It's hugely ambitious BMD and I think any club would struggle with the implications of it, or indeed any developer which is why it's lain untouched for so long.
Also a message to certain posters, Brisan 123 in particular. these are MY OPINIONS on the matter. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO AGREE WITH THEM but you DO NOT NEED TO INSULT ME EITHER.
