James McCarthy

Mad the way people are suggesting selling him but are happy seeing Tom Davies play.
I would sell gana, Schneiderlin and McCarthy tomorrow. At least Davies is still young and has potential to be a top player.

Who knows if he will reach that level, but them 3 mentioned, you know what you’re getting. Even if McCarthy could stay fit, he only an average footballer.
2 new midfielders required ASAP.

I don't expect James McCarthy to be ready for first team action until closer to Christmas, but if he comes back fit he will be a big improvement on those playing centre midfield for Everton now, obviously I have never seen Gomez so he might give the team an uplift in passing ability, McCarthy will provide the pressing and tackling that is mostly missing from the midfield now, in my opinion.

In all seriousness mate, what on earth is this based on?

McCarthy had a bad couple of years with injuries but generally was more or less injury free because of that.
I think he was stupid in how he managed his injuries and going to play international football after a long time out with injury, with no club football behind him and questions to be asked if he was fit in the first place was particularly dim.
I don't think Martin O Neill comes out of this with any credit either.

However, he was fit and playing for Everton when he broke his leg ... a break that happened because of his bravery and that should be noted.

The only positive thing about the long term injury is that hopefully it will have cleared up his other niggles.
A fit McCarthy would be a big asset in the squad and I think that if he stays fit he will start just about every week.

Keep him wrapped up in bubble wrap til January and get some money for him before he breaks again

The lad had his leg broke, not a sprained ankle. Till he had his leg broke covering for gutless schneiderlein he was our only functioning midfielder who looked like caring.

Our club and his country have created much of his injury issues. Martinez rushing him back and causing repeated hamstring strains.

If you think we would get £20m+ for him now then there is no chance. He needs to prove he has come back. He is a top player and deserves a good chance to Get back.

This all day long
I remember the Derby season before last when MaCarthy ran the show in the 1st half and Liverpool’s midfield couldn’t get near us
He got injured and we were struggling afterwards
