New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

Whilst I agree with your sentiments it is important to realise the importance of the RS to the city.
The bars and restaurants which thrive in our city and help make it a desirable place to visit or live, rely heavily on the roughly bi monthly invasion of mutants that accompany their home games.
I'm sure the residents around there will be chuffed that a load of spivs in town are coining it in while they get treated like rubbish.

If there was a really vibrant local media they'd be all over these decisions taken in the council concerning that football club.

There's defo something very wrong there.

Disappointed but I can't say I'm surprised by the news. The councils always bend over for them. I'm still getting over Knowsley basically gifting them £5m worth of land and letting them build on playing fields.

On the plus side, if they make this work, it at least proves there is some non-match day income to made at BMD.

On the downside, it looks like they have at least 5 years without competition in the city, so that will be yet more millions added to the turnover gap. Also, the mere presence of Anfield as a viable alternative to BMD will likely limit what we can get away with hiring the place out for.

You also get the horrible feeling that this is a precursor to them extending Anfield further. If they announce that before BMD takes some tangible steps forward things could turn even more toxic.

BMD will blow Anfield out of the water as a venue on many counts

No doubt, but promoters will follow the money. If the rs charge £1m for use of Anfield no promoter is going to pay us £1.5m to use BMD as they probably won't be able to make up that differential on tickets. Whereas if Anfield didn't exist as an alternative option we really might be in a position to set our own price.

With regard to
Access for bands and their articulated lorries
Access and egress for 60,000 fans
Toilet facilities
Food and drink concessions
Electrical , wi fi and sound systems
Security and CCTV systems
All of the above and more will make BMD the preferred choice of promoters
