Does anybody remember the time when people were saying ‘Bill will never sell the club etc etc,’ now people saying ‘the ground will never be built etc etc’, it seems a little churlish to me, but hey opinions are opinions

Strange point to take issue with. Do you think a project like this would stop consulting with stakeholders at any point? That will happen from conception to delivery and rightly so.

Doesn’t tell us anything positive or negative that they intend to keep talking to people who have a stake in the project.

The worrying bit for me, and you pointed it out somewhere earlier, is the “still looking into finance options”. This press release feels to me like we’re telegraphing the waterfront property benefits to any potential investors out there.

They keep wanting to talk about the same things. That's the point.

It's obvious what's happening: they're filling a vacuum where restlessness could develop if no info was given. It's the creation of an illusion that plans aren't slipping.

Without knowledge of who will pay for this stadium then everything they "update" us on is just a plate spinning exercise. If the club wont acknowledge that there's no reason for us not to.

Fair dues D. I’m fed up of hearing the same lines trotted out, for sure. But don’t get too bothered about the “consult with fans / stakeholders”, “capacity has to be right” etc as that’s non-controversial

Finance being sorted is the first, second, third etc. Priority and these statements always feel to me like touting for business, trying to tempt investors in with the lure of the waterfront.

You’d like to think at this point we wouldn’t need to do that, but we clearly still do.

Oh they're defo trying to scare up interest from the private sector. It's a no go as of this moment though.

Typical Everton stadium scheme: announce a stadium plan and then hope someone pays for it. It's like that old saying about "What's the height of cheek? Knocking on someone's door and asking them to sew a shirt on a button".

They cant be taken seriously. At least Destination Kirkby defo had a commercial partner. This is just pie in the sky as it stands.

Utter conjecture. Pie in the sky apart from having signed a lease with peel and having an architect working on it for the last god knows how long. And the new CEO and stadium development director further commenting. Not really actions of a club who believe the project is dead, although I appreciate they have told us nothing new.
