I looked back and with the exception of Joao its the same as the original posters suggested line-up which received several plaudits.... gotta give the yoof a game sometime???

Please note:

* The bar is licensed to remain open for a maximum of one hour after the final whistle.

* The dress code is smart casual Training Shoes not permitted. Please note that Football shirts are not permitted to be worn within the hospitality suite.

* Smoking is not permitted anywhere in the Goodison Park stadium and facilities. Under no circumstances will ticketholders be permitted to leave the Club’s stadium on a match day in order to smoke with the view to being re-admitted. The Club operates a no re-admittance policy.

My understanding is that there is a change in the rules and you are only prevented from playing in the competition that you were playing in when sent off.
Therefore this game does not count towards the suspension and thus Jagielka and Richarlison are , I believe , free to play v Rotherham

Jagielka is back Saturday which means this game is 3rd of 3, Richarlison is available for the game after West Ham which means he misses this and the Huddersfield/West Ham home games.

I’d give a few new lads a start but wouldn’t play a second string side, don’t care what Cup it is a trophy is a trophy and we need to compete for all of them now. I’d go:

Did it for my dads 50th couple years ago. Dont remember nothing from the game got paraletic. Saw few of the players after the game aswell. Think deloufeu got mom

It’s a pity Capt Jags is still out for this one: his experience and leadership in guiding a young team through these testing early Cup games is unrivalled. Hopefully Marco rewards Bainsey and Seamus with a start after their eye opening displays on Saturday. Almost Heaven Joao Virginia in goal? And perhaps Eton Dom up front replacing Hank?
Interesting game...one I really wish we had Capt Jags back in time for. In his absence though I’d like to think we’d win easily. However, with Bainesy and Seamus strutting their stuff I can see us losing it in a tight one. Hard to see us scoring with Eton Dom up front...so I’ll plump for a tightly contested, rousing 0-1 loss.

I know I'm not the only one who didn't equate mom as man of match on first reading

I want to prioritise cups - we finished 8th last year despite how utterly shambolic we were so we surely have the quality to finish high up the table with a few cup runs
